This week, we revisit Christian SNL of the 80s and learn all about the dangers of rock music. And yes, the mullets were in full bloom.

SOMEONE GET NOAH A KEYTAUR FOR DETROIT

james devine

he could of been looking up song in a biblical concordance. but I doubt it

Rachel

Apparently he heard yall making fun of Chopping Wood because it's renamed Katharos on the site now 😆

NA

At 1:23:43 he makes a joke about how meta something is, and says that the something - the woldasher mizzle? - is going to walk in and say "this is a little bit much." What is he saying? Is that a reference to something?

Markus Nävergård

oooh nice to go back to the old school moral panic of christianity. * blasts motorhead on full volume*

Total Absolutism

It's a reference to Eli's mostly ad-based Podcastiverse of various characters he's invented for various different ads done on the podcasts he's involved in over the years.

Dave Harfield

Love Fire By Nite for all the wrong reasons. Have the team ever done the "Satan Unmasked" episodes? It's full on 80's Satanic Panic paranoid nonsense, and the Family First episode is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen...

Natalie Kusoge

How did Noah get through this episode without a Milon’s Secret Castle joke?

Alex Swerdloff

Compact discus was right fucking there!

Markus D

BOOO! Cowards!

Markus D

Do you know what this Woldashermizzle is, or do you just know that it's a reference to that because it's something Eli said about layered meta stuff? 😆 'Cause now I'm curious about what it is.

Mark Smith

Yes, I also need drugs Noah, So I too will be back.

Mark Smith

Right more to the story, I'm going to have a large bowl looking out over Dunedin listening to the rest of this epic.

Total Absolutism

I know it from Eli's past references but I have absolutely no clue what that specific character is, and I won't pretend otherwise. I do, however, have insane Google-fu, and so I present this explanation. "The Wool Dasher Mizzle (Eli) – Named after the Allbirds shoe, this character was created for an Allbirds ad. Health said the name inadvertently summoning the fairy-elf-wizard(?) who goes on to torment Health in the ads. Has also made a cameo in D&D Minus. Appearance implied to be akin to a sketchy Keebler elf."

NA

That's incredible. I tried that spelling, saw all of the shoe ads, and figured it was a dead end. Amazing work

Yes, fellow Kiwi. Get high. It makes it better.
