Markus Nävergård

Mark H

Who. Thefuck. Was. This. Movie. FOR?!

Adam Parkin

I am saving this for my commute tomorrow, but I am so excited for this!

Markus Nävergård

pregnant woman squashe din earthquake and i imagined the baby just shooting out of her

michael rauser

For stoners who want to get high and laugh at it

Denise Huston

GDI LESLIE ODOM JR, get it together! Can someone fuckin cast him in something where his talents are put to good use?! Can we fire his agent for him?

Markus Nävergård

No, Jesus went to hell to convert the souls there. That is a thing in christianity

Markus Nävergård

thing is, Pazuzu is from ancient assyrian/sumeria, so that means their religion was real and everyone else was wrong.

Birder Stuart

Zinedine Zidane - former French footballer. Vinnie Jones - former footballer but definitely not french!

Timothy C Judd

The apostles creed says that Christ descended to hell before he rose again. St Paul does too. Weird that ChatGPT didn’t know about it

Denise Huston

Nah, the Harrowing of hell is a neat way that certain denominations get around the problem of, "Hey man, that means that everyone in the OT is in hell because they couldn't be Christian because Christ didn't exist yet." So he makes a trip downwards to scoop up all the dead Jewish patriarchs and whatnot. I think it's referenced in Dante, because I don't think the OT people are down with the Virtuous Pagans in hell's vestibule or whatever. (I may be misremembering the Dante, it's been a few decades since I read t.)

Amelia Barry

Werewolf Ambulance is my second favorite movie review podcast. I love it when Allen and Katie are guests! Hilarity ensues!

Amy Maua

I feel like the apostles creed I learned as a kid didn’t have it. But the one I relearned as an adult definitely did.

Amanda McGuirt

I listened to this in the park and a kid threw up next to me. Spoooooky.

CarrieBoo

I am so excited to listen to this like several times.

Someday Sera

As a former catholic, I definitely have heard the story of Jesus descending to hell for during the 3 days between his death and resurrection. No idea what the source is though.

Someday Sera

I subbed to them after their last gam visit, but never actually listened, after todays episode i proceeded to listen to like...10 episodes of werewolf ambulance in a row

Robbi Prior

yep, that's what I was taught in church, also he could not go to heaven just yet because he was full of all the sins of humanity and no sinful person could enter heaven, I supposed he just loitered in hell preaching and shedding that sin all over the carpet wherever he walked ;-)

Robbi Prior

I was raised Church of England (pre them becoming Anglicans - I am old) and as Timothy C Judd above mentioned it was definitely in the Apostles' Creed we learnt.

Taru Tikkanen

Katie and Allen are back for more Exorcist nonsense! Heck yeah!

Total Absolutism

It is a thing that I was aware of, but it's definitely not universally taught.

Uriah Jackson

Katie mentioned the garden, she really has been to a UU church.

J. Vizzle

HeEeEeEeEeAaAaAaAaAaAaTtTtTtTtHhHhHhHh!?!?!

Ty Stephens

Oh hey it's the W.A. guys. I used to love that show, but they botched Repo: The Generic Opera so hard I just stopped listening. Maybe I'll give them another shot.

Lauren W

The Harrowing of Hell, yep. It used to be part of the Apostle's Creed and I think Benedict might have put it back? Idk I haven't been to church in like a decade. There's also a pretty decent comic published by Iron Circus about it by Evan Dahm.

Lauren W

Aaron Burr and Roger from Rent teaming up to be the worst dads. Kind of fitting.

Lauren W

Also I'm now angry all over again that they canceled the TV show to bring us this mess instead.

Someday Sera

I just listened to their episode on Prince of Darkness, and was deeply disappointed. How dare they dislike that glorious nonsense. It's basically big trouble in little china meets Evil Dead. (otherwise i've quite liked the handful of episodes I've listened to)

Someday Sera

i think so...no idea what that is, like...from context I can sorta fill in the blanks, but i've never heard that term before

Someday Sera

3 is pretty good, but yeah 2, 4 and the prequel not so much

Ty Stephens

Ooooooooo. I need to check that movie out.

Paintmekala

Grew up Baptist/Pentecostal and was definitely told the story of Jesus fighting Satan in Hell for 3 days. No idea where it came from

Jay Reynolds

Especially in the more brimstone evangelical groups.

Markus Nävergård

Lucifer" seriously man, why are you here? Dad has a messed up sense of doing things" Yeah, lucifer should be jesus brother/ Son i guess.

Markus Nävergård

what is root magic and what unitarianism or what it was called

TenaciousB

Google tells me it's Gullah folk magic.

Clockworkk

I was a Presbyterian back when I was a believer in all that religious stuff, and they have a whole thing about how Jesus descended into hell to, like, crash the fucking gates or some shit before he rose from the grave.

Someday Sera

As a former catholic I recall it being something about taking on mans sins, being able to empathize and all that, to know our pain and shoulder that burden he had to experience it, or something of that nature. ...like how cops get maced and tazed in training to teach them how it feels? I guess?
