The Curse of Rafinesque was a (mostly) true story I told in Phables about Transylvania University in Kentucky. It's one of my favorite comics from that series. According to legend, something tragic happens at Transylvania University every seven years. The last "Curse Year," by the way, was 2018.

Phables was a series of full-page comics that ran in the Philadelphia Daily News from 2007-2008. It was the only time I've been nominated for an Eisner Award.

What I love about this is that it sounds like you pulled all of it out of your ass - I mean, Transylvania University of Kentucky? - but it's mostly) all real.

I'd just learned about Transylvania U this year... I love this story. Thanks for the happy Halloween giggles.
