From FWOMP to Fertility: My Favorite EiAD Pages of the Past Year (Patreon)
Content
Every year, a handful of Evil Inc After Dark pages rise above the rest — not because they’re the most outrageous (though some absolutely are), but because they clicked. Sometimes it’s a joke that lands perfectly. Sometimes it’s a panel that carries way more emotional weight than expected. And sometimes it’s just a visual or a line of dialogue that sticks in my brain and refuses to leave.
These are the EiAD pages from the past year that I keep coming back to—the ones that made me laugh out loud, slow down, or feel like I finally nailed something I’ve been circling for a long time.
• Phenomenal Lass and the FWOMP of JusticeOnce Phenomenal Lass learns that the only way to defeat the Anti-Voxxer is to make him talk, she approaches the problem with her usual… unintentional confidence. This page worked because it leans hard into who she is: devastatingly effective without ever realizing why.
• Cassie Takes Jeremy on VacationLike many Cassie/Jeremy moments, this scene carries an undercurrent of sweetness beneath the tension. In an earlier page, Cassie promises Jeremy a vacation if he can maintain… control… under extremely difficult circumstances. In this follow-up, we see that Jeremy was bound(!) to be rewarded — one way or another.
• Elastic Man's DiplomacyThis one earned its spot entirely because of two panels: one that made me laugh immediately, and one that turned out far hotter than I expected. I'll let you guess which is which.
• Minotaurs Without Mates — The Coffee Table HallucinationThis arc was an undeniable standout. Angus hallucinates a minotaur breeding scene right there at the coffee table… and as the haze clears, the mundane objects that triggered it are revealed. I loved the slow realization baked into this page.
• Angus’ Support Group & The Corinthian Fertility ClinicFocusing on the support group opened the door to stories about minotaurs grappling with their instincts—and led us straight to the Corinthian Fertility Clinic. This page is packed with easter eggs, background jokes, and subtle references.
I also really loved the line shouted in this panel…
(Also—what is that minotaur on the right doing??)
And yes: the final visual beat, with the sperm literally punching its way forward, still makes me smile.
• Prenatal Care at the ClinicThe follow-up page brought a wonderfully frantic fanfare of fertility: three pregnant women, all patients of the clinic’s monster-breeding program, arriving for prenatal care. It’s busy, chaotic, and exactly the energy I wanted.
• The “Handymin” Closing SceneThis moment stood out because it gave us a rare age-gap pairing—an older male and a much younger female—and did so with a surprising amount of restraint and tenderness layered under the premise.
• Hana Takahashi and Vasomaxial Overload SyndromeHana’s report may have gotten the single biggest response of the year. I was delighted with how this panel came together…
...and the punchline in the final panel absolutely lit up the Comments section.
• Lightning Lady & MarquisThis was a story I’ve been trying to circle back to since EiAD #16 — which ran all the way back in 2016! Revisiting these characters let me show how much my illustration style has matured…
... and also gave me another opportunity to stage a scene featuring characters with wildly different body types.
• Real Housewives of Transylvania — Grand FinaleAnd of course, my annual tradition delivered. Real Housewives of Transylvania brought the heat as always, with a finale that escalated exactly the way it should — and then kept going.
What I love most about looking back at these pages isn’t just the heat — it’s the range. Comedy sitting next to sincerity. Absurdity brushing up against surprisingly emotional beats. These pages represent me getting more comfortable letting a scene breathe when it needs to… and letting it go completely off the rails when that’s the fun choice.
Thanks for being the kind of audience that notices the little things, argues lovingly in the comments, and encourages me to keep pushing EiAD into strange, funny, heartfelt territory.
