Sometimes the most dangerous thing two super-powered people can do……is communicate.

Today’s new page dives into something we don’t often see in superhero stories: grown-up relationship boundaries. Miss Match opens up about the infamous “Team-Up Talk” — the conversation every cape couple probably should have before adrenaline, close quarters, and spandex make things complicated.

You’ll get:

Lightning Lady asking the exact right question

A clear look at how Miss Match and Captain Heroic make their relationship work

And, yes… a reminder that “healthy” doesn’t mean “boring”

This page sets emotional stakes that will absolutely matter later — even if, for now, it ends with a smile and a carry toward the bedroom.

Transcript

Narration: Meanwhile… at Evil Inc…

Miss Match: I kinda overreacted. That video caught me by surprise.

Miss Match: I mean... obviously, Captain Heroic and I have had the "Team-Up Talk."

Lightning Lady: What’s that?

Miss Match: When you're on a team-up, very often tensions, adrenaline, and close proximity lead to sexually charged moments.

Miss Match (in narration box): If you’re dating a cape, it's best to agree on boundaries before it's too late.

(scene: Cap and Miss Match are sitting together on a sofa.)

Miss Match: Clear communication. Mutual respect. Honesty. We call each other first — and respect any vetoes.

Captain Heroic: That all sounds… very healthy.

Miss Match: It is. It just removes a lot of friction.

Captain Heroic (carrying Miss Match towards the bedroom): We’ll see about that…

Sane and sensible even in a world of spandex. Well done.

Cassie got crossed out?!? Nooooo! Giant Tess didn't get crossed out?!? Yay!!!!

Presuming that the list of females are potentials for Cap, instead of for Miss Match, I find the selection on the list to be very telling. PsyChick gets crossed off, as a jealous ex- and somebody who seems to regularly butt heads with Miss Match. Cassie gets crossed off. And we've seen Miss Match already address an amount of closeness in the Cap/Cassie relationship that makes her feel threatened or uncomfortable. Desi gets a question mark, as though either Miss Match or Cap isn't sure about this one. With Desi already in a committed relationship and so any encounter would be short lived. And the only party that Miss Match seems to say that she is totally okay with is... Giant Tess. And Giant Tess is, perhaps, the sort of woman that Miss Match is less inclined to feel threatened by. She's in HR, instead of field work, so there's little worry about Tess bumping into Cap on the job. And Tess has a track record of being somewhat crude and blunt, rather than seductive or manipulating, so even if Tess pulls it off, she's not a high risk of the "stealing my man" issue.

I'm impressed with the analysis. Certainly more thoughtful than my "Giant Tess, yay!" 🙂
