Chapter 17 | Page 12: In and Out of Trouble (Patreon)

When Lightning Lady says she’s thinking about “In and Out,” she’s definitely not talking about burgers. Unfortunately, Angus the Minotaur is still stuck on the food angle — and it’s making for one very awkward (and unintentionally revealing) conversation about what she really wants tonight.

Transcript

Panel 1:

Narration: That night, Lightning Lady drops in on her boyfriend, Angus the Minotaur, who is busy in the kitchen working on a special dinner…

Panel 2:

Angus: “You’re just in time to try out my— WHAT’S THAT??” (He sees Lightning Lady's emotion cloud)

Lightning Lady: sigh “It’s one of Muskiday’s inventions. It shows my inner emotions.”

Panel 3:

Lightning Lady: “The sooner it’s gone, the better.”Angus:  “Why? You shouldn’t feel as if you have to hide anything from me!”

Panel 4:

Lightning Lady: “I don’t. Still… it’s weird.”Angus:  “This’ll take your mind off all of that!”

Panel 5:

Angus:  “It’s my new recipe: TOFU HAGGIS!”Angus:  “Ingredients include oats, mushrooms, turnips, and a nutritional yeast gravy.”

Panel 6:

(visual gag panel, no dialogue; a McDonald’s-style icon appears in Lightning Lady's emotion cloud)

Panel 7: Angus (off-panel, shouting): “Hamburgers?! You want to go out for HAMBURGERS?!?”

Panel 8: Lightning Lady: “HEY! You just said I don’t have to hide my feelings from you!” Angus: “Tell me what you wanna do tonight, and I promise not to judge.” Lightning Lady: “OK… OK…”

Panel 9: (Emotion bubble above Lightning Lady shows a Big Boy mascot holding burgers.) Angus looks concerned.

Panel 10: (Emotion bubble changes to a Steak ’n’ Shake logo.) Angus facepalms.

Panel 11: Angus: “Gods. You are NOT making this easy.” Angus: “I don’t like the food at any of those places.”

Panel 12: Lightning Lady: “I, um… stopped thinking about food three clouds ago.” (Emotion bubble shows an In-N-Out sign.) Angus is taken aback.
