Coffee, kissing, camp counselors, succubi — and one last push for a ’Ringo.

There’s an old saying in social media: If something works, do it again. Actually, I don’t know if that’s an old saying. But it certainly seems to be the guiding principle behind every algorithm ever invented.

Either way, Countess Influencia is catching on fast.

This week on Evil Inc...

Hailey was once a waitress at Ralph’s Diner. Now she’s Countess Influencia, a supervillain powered by social-media attention — and she’s discovered that putting Captain Heroic in front of her livestream audience does wonderful things for her follower count.

Once Countess figures out that her audience likes seeing Captain Heroic cater to her, she starts testing exactly how far that little dynamic can go.

Evil Inc After Dark: Summer camp gets considerably warmer

Meanwhile, over on Evil Inc After Dark, I’ve posted a new scene featuring Jet Stream and Dragonelle as summer-camp counselors at Cape Camp.

Dragonelle handles wilderness survival. Jet Stream teaches defensive swimming. And, after spending the day watching one another demonstrate their respective talents, the two discover an entirely different extracurricular activity after lights-out.

Fire powers.

Water powers.

One cabin.

You can probably see where this is going.

Unlock this scene now!

The scene comes with the usual assortment of alternate versions and extras for Patreon backers, along with the story behind how these two counselors managed to turn summer camp into something more special.

Comics pros: Five days left to vote for Evil Inc!

One more reminder for my fellow comics creators:

The deadline for final voting in the 2026 ’Ringo Awards is Wednesday, Aug. 26.

And Evil Inc is nominated for Best Humor Webcomic.

If you make comics professionally, you’re eligible to vote. And one thing I particularly appreciate about the ’Ringos is that their definition of “comics professional” includes the people who make comics on the Web.

Webcartoonists are comics professionals.

As. They. Should. Be.

Until next time...

Next week, we’ll see just how much humiliation Captain Heroic is willing to endure for Hailey — and how much social-media power Countess Influencia can squeeze out of it.

Meanwhile, Evil Inc After Dark continues doing its part to make sure “summer reading” remains a wildly misleading description of what patrons are actually looking at.

Thanks, as always, for reading, sharing the comic, backing my work, and generally enabling this ridiculous little supervillain corporation to stay in business.
