Reality is overrated

Psy-Chick has officially joined the party — although Catnip has made sure she’s seeing a very different version of events.

Turns out, when your teammate can alter your perception of reality, things can get complicated fast. Especially when she realizes you’ve been altering hers right back.

And judging by that last panel, Catnip may have to work a little harder to keep Psy-Chick’s attention…

Catnip countering the Alligator God with her Spitting Asp is almost too much to bear; this reality is worth a look, or three!

Eh...lost me at the last panel. I'm so over the futa (and minotaurs). But that's just me.

Not every kink is going to be what tickles your fancy, but it's important that they still get their turn. The book would get repetitive if it was alway straight missionary sex or blowjobs. Variety keeps things interesting and those other things might be someone else's favorite. Even if it's not your wank ammo, that doesn't mean the story won't be fun or interesting.

True. And in good faith I won't argue your point. That said, It's been long enough in the arc that a) Catnip is most likely over this relationship already so it's really weird to say she needs some sort of closure, and b) assuming there is unrequited feelings, pegging Sobek (who btw I think is a great character) will bring closer. And from a personal note futa is only good in small doses. Other artists I follow are big on futa so for me it's s compounding effect. If I only followed Brad it probably wouldn't be that big a deal.

The Catnip/Sobek arc is a bit more involved than the brief recap that Brad provides might suggest. Sobek is a great character and I highly recommend the deep dive. Issue 79 is pulling some keep cuts from some majority unresolved stories. Summarizing the Catnip/Sobek rollercoaster though, much of which took place in the core comic and not in After Dark, the cliff's note version is this. - Catnip and Sobek were engaged and Catnip left him at the alter. They made it clear to the wedding before she backs out, including her being in the wedding dress and everything. It almost happens. - Afterwards, when Sobek reaches out to Evil Inc for a major purchase, Catnip is normally head of sales and she cannot handle meeting with him. She explains to Miss Match that it's too hard for her. Catnip didn't leave Sobek because she was angry or didn't like him; she can't meet with him because she still has very conflicted feelings. - Miss Match takes the sales assignment for Catnip and ends up hooking up with Sobek Ra on their first meeting. Miss Match describes him as being very handsome and very charismatic. - At a later point, Miss Match is actually living with Sobek Ra while avoiding Captain Heroic. Miss Match insists their relationship is "just as friends". Sobek Ra is seen repeatedly trying to advance the relationship to something as committed romance. In a very short time, Sobek Ra becomes very obsessive about trying to make this relationship into something romantic and longterm. The implication seems to be that Catnip really liked Sobek Ra, but that he pushed her for too much commitment too quickly, and she left him, not because she didn't like him, but because she wasn't ready to be married. - Miss Match returns needing to talk to Sobek Ra for emotional support, and instead discovers Catnip in the home, showering. Catnip declares that she is back with Sobek Ra, seemingly given him a second chance because she was jealous of what was happening between him and Miss Match. - Sobek Ra obtains the sacrificial dagger of ressurection so that he can kill Miss Match and bring her back as his immortal bride. This makes it pretty clear that, while we do not see the conversation, he dumps Catnip after she had finally decided she wanted to be with him, and he instead chooses Miss Match. This second break-up seems likely to be the reason why Catnip is not just easily over him. He wanted to marry her, and she just needed more time. By the time she was ready and wanted to be with him, he moved on to someone else. - After the sacrificial stabbing, Miss Match later meets up with Sobek Ra and personally burns up his crotch. Then, when Sobek is in the hospital, she has the plant doctor cut off Sobek Ra's charred penis to use it as a ritual component for a different scheme when she needs "a piece of a God". She's told that a drop of his blood would have done fine, but she instead had his penis removed, at least in part. If you're Catnip, it's not just that you used to date this guy and then you called it off. It's that this was the man you were in love with. He wanted to marry you. And by the time you were ready, he moves on and dumps you for your friend. Then, once the other woman is out of the picture and you finally could try again, she absolutely wrecks him in a way that makes the relationship prospects largely ruined for the future. Does she still want him if he's neutered? Probably not. So does she have a good reason to be a part of an anti-Miss Match conspiracy? Aboslutely! Does she have a good reason to still be hung up on Sobek Ra? Honestly, yes. She was double denied what she wanted. And as for how much time has passed, while for us as readers this has been several years, within the comic it's been more like months. A single comic scene might cover six pages for a single evening, but for us as readers that takes six weeks. Catnip hasn't had nearly as much time as we have to put this in the past. I think she's still very justified in how she feels. This story's got some deep cuts to it, but the more you dig, the more I think you'll enjoy it. Give the background stuff a re-read. Remember, with Death Chill's wife, for example, Miss Match left while Death Chill and her were fighting. Afterwards though, Death Chill gets abducted by Surgat and taken to the Dark Dimension. That means, for Death Chill's wife, no matter how mad she might have been, her husband went to work one day and then never returned. No packing his stuff. No note. No nothing. And they have two children. Here she is assuming that he must have left for Miss Match, but the way his disappearance occurred is so jarring, abandoning not just her but the kids as well, that even if she is angry about his affair, this is not simply a situation where she can move on. And with PsyChick, not only did Miss Match sleep with her boyfriend behind her back, and not only did both Miss Match AND Cap not have the decency to tell her about it or for Cap to break things off with her, she had to find out by catching them ON TELEVISION. And then we saw earlier this year, PsyChick actually did manage to move on after Cap, dating an intern named "Tad", and Tad cheated on her as well, sleeping with some random office skank in the supply closet. PsyChick has been presented as repeatedly seeking a real boyfriend, not just a hook-up, and every example we've seen so far involves the guy cheating on her. Miss Match's betrayal of PsyChick was much more intentional and deliberate and malicious than with the others, and PsyChick is bound to have all sorts of insecurities after being repeatedly cheated on by every guy she dates. Give it a solid chance as a story to stand on it's own. I think you'll be surprised by how good it ends up being.
