While I share this timelapse video of the recent cartoon about Cupid at a gentlemen's club, I'll share the audio from the ComicLab podcast in which I describe my new high-tech porch lights to my co-host, Dave Kellett.

Falling in love at the Gentlemen's Club

I think this has happened at almost every bachelor's party I've ever attended. There's always that one guy who's a little introverted and falls in love with one of the performers at the strip club. Now imagine an entire busload. It would be double overtime for any self-respecting Cupid.

Porch lights

Meanwhile, I'm proud to announce that my porch lights are still going strong. They were blue and white when the Detroit Lions went into the playoffs, maroon and cream when my son got a scholarship to Temple University, and red, purple, and pink for the week of Valentine's Day.

Congratulations on your son's scholarship! . I knew someone who started college at 17 and when he turned 18, we were thinking of what to do to celebrate since we couldn't take him to a bar. One guy suggested taking him to a strip club. We were mostly broke (and introverted and geeky) college students, so weren't too keen on going, from a financial standpoint. Thought we'd take him to a diner and pay for his meal and a dessert. Well, the guy who wanted to go to the strip club told the birthday boy about the plans and he was all for it. Put us in a bind, but we went. Right away we could tell we were out of our element. The "highlight" being when two from our group were debating whether or not the poles were hollow or solid. To which the rest of us went "You're looking at the POLE?!!!!" The organizer of the event had us all chip in a few bucks a piece to get the birthday boy a lap dance. One woman he couldn't keep his eyes off of the whole night, so when she came by, we explained it's his 18th birthday. She was happy to take him to the back room. We emphasized "He only has enough money, from us, for one dance. No matter what he tells you!" After awhile, he came back all wobbly-legged. We joked around with him and then left. Wound up still going to a diner, afterwards!

We tried! The birthday boy talked about it for days, afterwards. We did joke that we got to look at some attractive women, for a change (our college had a very bad girl to guy ratio).

Glad to see another Detroit Lions fan in the area! Broke my heart when the Niners nixed 'em...but that made the Super Bowl SOOOO much finer! :D :D :D :D :D
