I think blood + white background works best.

I prefer the scissors without blood, because the blood both pulls the eye away from the handle, and obscures the scissor blades, so it takes a minute of looking before realizing that you're looking at scissors instead of just a bloody knife. For background I thiiink I prefer the white but it's a close call.
