I kind of... can't believe this is finally done. 🫣 We filmed session zero for this game in October of 2022! Between the planning, the prep, the filming, and the editing, this represents dozens of hours of work (which I really struggled to squeeze in alongside my regular weekly workload and other projects!)

In any case, I AM SO EXCITED TO SHARE IT WITH THE WORLD!! I hope people like it! 😭 If they don't I will cry!!

I FINALLY got my parents to play D&D

This video was over a year in the making! Turns out editing several hours of gameplay footage and interviews is time-consuming. 😵‍💫 Who knew! ► Get your 2024 calendar: http://ginnydi.com/shop Music from Epidemic Sound Need music for your videos or streams? This is so cute!!!

Peter G

Your parents are so cute!

ChatN

So cute! Also, Ginny and that lady look very alike. I suspect they might be related somehow.

Brian Leet

This is wonderful! My mother tried playing D&D with us once when we my friends and I were all boys (would have been 40 years ago, lol). She concluded it was not for her, but I'm glad she did, and we still play games like Scrabble together.

Vic

This is so cute! 😍 I love that your parents loved the game and would play again, and I love how proud they are of their daughter! Also: kittens!!! Thank you so much for sharing! 🙏💚

Charley Sumner

Super fun video! It was delightful and I loved it. Great work on the final thumbnail for this video too, it's perfect.

Dusty

"I can only use it once" is both a new-player question and a pushing experienced-players question.

Steven Swann

This was fantastic, and will be a forever memory for all. Wish I could've done this with my parents.

it particularly made me laugh since about an hour earlier, they had asked if using a rope would make it disappear 😂

Schruka

I like this version of the post even better! The coulours really pop! Can't wait to watch the video once I have WiFi back!

John Frazer

This was so good Ginny! Well worth the wait. It felt like a reality tv show (except, ya know, good!) with the interspersed interviews. But it does leave me craving more... I thought "Oh! Poppa Di being a geologist explains why Ginny is a dice goblin!" until Momma Di exclaimed, "*gasp* Whoa! Look at these!" 😂

This video made me smile throughout. So far I've only played the one one-shot my parents and sister indulged me in trying. Similarly attention-wise it went about 2.5 hours and that was their game time max - especially my mom's. May turn into a Christmas-time tradition. Definitely used some Ginny Di videos in preparation of the game.

Harry Dunn

Nice job, Ginny! A lot more successful than my own attempts. Also, with potential for a sequel.

DarkMogool

I had a big smile on my face during the hole video :D

Marcus Beirne

This is wonderful! Such a great video, and definitely worth the struggle to get a video out that's so You, but also deviates from your usual content! I cannot imagine the skill and presience needed to run a D&D game, with your parents, while also keeping aware of framing and sound and everything else that goes into filming a video this polished! And then you had to edit it down to 15 minutes of "the best" content! Alongside your day-to-day Youtubering!! Absolutely amazing! Thank you for making this!

I kinda wonder if your parents might make a return (even if only in voice-over), either as a letter from their characters or a parent or friend of one of your characters. just a thought; sorry.

>"Oh! Poppa Di being a geologist explains why Ginny is a dice goblin!" until Momma Di exclaimed, "*gasp* Whoa! Look at these!" Both can be true. :)

Ginny I loved this video

Nathan Camp

I love this video. I play with friends but the group I DM for us my wife and her parents. It was so cool to see so many similarities between this and their first ever session 😁

Annaleigh Oldeworlde

This was so much fun to watch! All I was left wanting was more of the content. I would gladly watch a live session with all of you!!

Jonathan & Megan Pierson

No tears necessary. This is great! My favorite bits: 1: Pablo Picatso. Because Cat. And he is a gorgeous boy. I particularly love at the end, when you pull him up into your lap, and he just sits there with his legs splayed out goofily, perfectly happy because he's got Momlap. 2: Mom "Ooo"-ing and "Ahh"-ing over your prettypretty dice. 3: Your observation that mom and dad fall right into typical D&D player behaviors. D&D is psychology. 4: When mom tried to steal gold from dad. Just the total D&D-ness of it (see #3), and dad's spontaneous in-character response.

Heather Jones

This was a delight to watch! I think largely because of your adorable parents and the vicarious joy of playing DnD for the first time, but also because it was fun to see you do your thing, like your parents said 😊

Nathanial

I finally watched it, and it was so fun seeing you and your parents have such a fun time when you were absolutely “in your element.” And they said they’d play again… in front of the internet! lol! So happy for you!
