I have disagreed with Quentin's choices a few times, and I do here as well, but I understand his perspective. Just try to imagine your mother telling you that your sister has been dead for 6 months and has repeatedly lied to you about it. It can be difficult to just brush that to the side. On Laurel's side of things, at first she wanted to avoid telling him until they caught the killer, but once they realized that they couldn't do that quickly, she still didn't tell him. I think it became less of a worry about his health and more about what his reaction would be to her keeping it a secret. This is all to show that both characters aren't perfect. Laurel ended up keeping something so important a secret for too long to avoid dealing with his reaction to her keeping it a secret. Quentin has felt deeply betrayed by Laurel and the Arrow, but his anger at them is leading him to be biased against them.
