in the games, spores were always a thing even in the first game, and you constantly had to wear gas masks in some areas. bloaters(the super bug monsters) and some others could actually spit up spores. In the show, they decided to drop spores from the season 1 story cuz they wanted you to be able to always see the actors faces instead of them wearing gas masks and not being able to see actors faces. im curious why they then tried to awkwardly reintroduce spores in season 2.
