We just watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and WOW — what an amazing movie! ⚡️ This one is Rachel’s favorite so far until now! So many twists and plots, and you guys were right… it definitely gets darker in this one. The kids are growing up, the story is getting deeper, and we loved every second of it!

Also, we noticed this is the first movie without Voldemort showing up 👀 and now we have SO many questions!We’re just happy that Sirius and Buckbeak are safe 🥹💫

The actor who plays Draco Tom Felton had said the cast and including him were jealous of the relationship between Gary Oldman a.k.a Sirius and Daniel Radcliffe a.k.a Harry because their relationship pretty much mirrored Harry and Sirius in real life, they had bonded so much off set 🥹. Sirius is my favorite character, especially in the books, you can just tell how much he loves Harry and you can see how much Harry wants to have a family, he has Sirius.

All of the current Hogwarts teahcers knew each other as kids or were in the same classes, Snape knew harry's parents etc. Idk how Lupin is a werewolf but I assume like any other human he was bit and became one. I feel so bad for Sirius he was blamed for killing his friends then Peter just turns into a rat to escape and hides with Ron's family is so crazy ! Peter just selling em out to Voldermort is crazy. And Even tho Snape is a bit rude I love him he came to Harry, Ron and Hermine's rescue only for Harry to attack him lol. I love how Dumbledoor just knows everything haha he is the best and Herminoe going back in time makes so much sense all movie Ron kept asking where she came from when they were in class she appeared out of nowhere when Harry was sitting by himself. I got Hufflepuff when I did the house quiz ^^

Even though this movie is great ~ one of my favorites 😻 ~ a lot of information was left out, so it's confusing for those who only watch the movies. Honestly, Sirius seems quite guilty; the years in Azkaban didn't do any good to him, but Sirius is one of the best characters in the movies and in the books. I got Gryffindor, and I luv Hermione.

From a filmmaking perspective, this is probably the best Harry Potter film. Alfonso Cuaron had an aesthetic that was wholly different from the first two films directed by Chris Columbus. I don't know why he didn't return to direct more of the films, but his style set the tone for the remaining films in the series.

The closest we get is when Fred and George give harry the map. Moony= Lupin. Padfoot= Sirius. Prongs=James(Harrys dad) and Wormtail=Peter pettigrew. Those were their nicknames in school together

Sorry in advance for the really long comment The reason some parts of the castle seemed different is because they are. This movie had a new director, and so a lot of things changed. This franchise goes through 4 different directors, so the vibe of the movies are constantly changing. The 4th movie also has a new director, and the 5th does as well. Some of the new things in the movie are due to what grade/year of school they are in. 3rd years starting take two elective classes. Harry and Ron decide to do Care of Magical Creature (the class Hagrid teaches) and Divination. Hermione convinced the school to let her do 5 electives, but drops two of them after this school year. The other thing new to 3rd years is trips to Hogsmeade village. 1st and 2nd years are not allowed to go. Harry ask his uncle to sign the permission slip, but after the incident with Aunt Marge at the start of the movie, I don't think Uncle Vernon was ready to sign the paper. At the end of this school year, Sirius send Dumbledore permission for Harry to go to Hogsmeade, so Harry is allowed to go in the later movies. Since they don't really explain Lupin's backstory in the movies, here it is. In this universe, most werewolves are wizards who were bitten by another werewolf. Most werewolves don't have children. Lupin was bitten as a kid by a werewolf named Fenrir Greyback. To give some details to Harry's dad's friends, Lupin, Peter, Sirius, and James were all friends that hung out together. They created the Marauder's Map, the names Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs being their nicknames. To help Lupin deal with his werewolf problem, the other three learned to become Animagus to keep Lupin company during the full moon. Peter turned into a rat, Sirius turned into a dog, and James turned into a stag. To clarify the time travel in this movie, they can't exactly change the past. As you noticed, Hermione throwing the stones, Hermione doing the wolf howl, and Harry casting the patronus had all already happened. They didn't change anything that had already happened from their perspective the first time around because their future selves had already time traveled. So, in that way, they wouldn't have been able to capture Peter before he escaped since it didn't already happen. And it would have also been difficult to find him after he escaped since they would have been looking for a rat in the forest. Slytherins are known for being cunning, resourceful, ambitious, determined, amongst other things. Also, Ron (in the movies) implies that all evil wizards come from Slytherin, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that every Slytherin is evil. I think as long as you identify with the traits of your house, you should be happy with the house you got. I think wanting to be a Gryffindor because it’s the “good guy” house or a Slytherin because it’s the “ bad guy” house are boring reasons to want a house. Also, remember that the Sorting Hat believes that Harry should be a Slytherin. Merlin is a magician from the legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table from Camelot. If you haven’t heard of this, they are legends that are from hundreds of years ago, but are pretty famous. Harry Potter just says that Merlin is real wizard. I would ask Julie in particular to try to remember this as you may or may not have a reference to Camelot in an upcoming reaction. Ravenclaws are known for valuing wit, learning, wisdom, creativity, intelligence, amongst other things. Filius Flitwick is the charms professor. He looks different after the first two movies, but he is the one that was teaching Wingardium Leviosa in the first movie. He was also directing the frog choir toward the beginning of the third movie. Hermione was almost a Ravenclaw. In the books, they say that the Sorting Hat was in between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, taking a few minutes before deciding Gryffindor. The movies only really focus on Gryffindor and Slytherin, but that doesn’t make the other houses less interesting. It just means we have to put more effort into learning about our houses. I’m in Hufflepuff, so I also don’t have a lot from Hufflepuff in the movies. You do get a Hufflepuff in the 4th movie! If you noticed, both of you got some different questions, meaning you might have gotten a different house if you got a different question. If you want to do all of the questions, this website (https://wizardmore.com/sorting-hat-x/) has all of the questions, although I recommend clicking on one of the animals to hide the percentages until the end, so that it doesn’t affect your answers.
