This was our FIRST horror movie ever… and wow 😱

We decided to jump straight into IT (2017), and let’s just say "we were NOT prepared for this level of fear". The jump scares, the tension, Pennywise appearing out of nowhere… it completely destroyed us.

There was a LOT of screaming (seriously — headphone users beware 🎧), panic, and genuine terror throughout this reaction. Experiencing our very first horror movie together made everything even more intense and unforgettable.

While watching, we couldn’t help but notice so many similarities between IT and Stranger Things — from the kids’ dynamic to the eerie small-town vibes. And seeing Finn Wolfhard (our beloved Mike 🖤) as part of this movie was such an amazing surprise!

I know your schedule is jammed pack, but I’d watch at least one scary movie reaction a month by you two. Make popcorn and everything. 🎈

Pennywise can eat anyone in Derry as is, he just picks kids cause their imagination, and fear is like salt and pepper to his meal

😂😂 For me personally, this movie is not really that scary. But i’ve watched so many scary movies from since i was a child, i got desensitized to scary movies and tv shows. It’s more so creepy than scary. For me, it would have to be a psychological thriller to actually scare me.

Parents definitely gave their kids more room during the 1980s. You had to let them roam somewhere because there were fewer options to keep kids occupied in the house. And, honestly, while that did create more risks, it also allowed for kids to learn common sense, to get cut, to have scars, and to develop social skills at an early age. I don't know if it's connected, but there were far fewer kids with the anxiety and neurodivergent behavior that are so prevalent today. In the movie, Pennywise corrupts the entire town, affecting both the children and the adults. Honestly, I've always thought of the story written by Stephen King to be a metaphor for childhood traumas and the variety of fears that children experience, both real and imagined, and developing the strength to confront them. The adults, who are bitter, mean, indifferent, and abusive, are a product of having experienced those same fears but never conquering them. Now that they have power over the vulnerable, they pass on that same fear and resentment. Pennywise is the embodiment of all that.

OMG, we’ll try our best, even though it’s scary haha 😭

I've got some good suggestions for movies that make good introductions to horror/horror comedies if you're ever interested.

Ik ik. 😭 I'm like nearly two months late. I went here from YouTube. But I'm with ya with the Stranger Things vibes. 😆 I normally don't watch TV shows, but Stranger Things made an exception due to how popular it was among my old online friends, AND because of how similar it was to this movie. And about this movie, it was one of the first scary movies I dared myself to watch in the theaters. And I did not regret it and never forgot it. 😂 Did the same with Chapter 2, and that one got me by surprise. @-@ Welp. Guess I'm into Finn Wolfhard series set in small fictional towns in the 80s with children haunted by otherworldly entities. 😂 AND made around the same times. (IT Chapter One/Stranger Things Season 2), (IT Chapter Two/Stranger Things Season 3), (IT: Welcome To Derry Season 1/Stranger Things Season 5) I started watching Stranger Things though when season 3 came about, but Season 4 will forever be my most favorite. And IT: Chapter 2 is my favorite because of all my favorite actors, like James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, and Bill Hader.
