We’re finally back in the Wizarding World 👀✨

This time, it’s all about Fantastic Beasts and let’s just say… this journey surprised us in ways we did NOT see coming.

Stepping away from Harry Potter and diving into a whole new side of magic felt completely different. New rules, new world, and even a look into how things work across the ocean in the USA?? Yeah… things get a little wild 🧳🗽

The vibe, the tone, the characters, everything caught us off guard. One character especially gave us MAJOR Hagrid energy, and we couldn’t help but love that ❤️

And the creatures?? Absolutely magical. Every single one brought something unique… and there was ONE scene in particular that had us laughing way more than expected 😂

We’re really curious to see where this story goes next… 👀

Fun fact: fantastic beasts and where to find them is actually a textbook at Hogwarts, the students literally use it in Hagrid’s class! I’m pretty sure this is a book detail, though; the movies don’t really highlight it (or I might have missed it 😅)

I love how akward Newt is he is so sweet and there are Fantasic Beasts books too. The actor for Newt is really good in this 2014 romance movie on Steven Hawkings life called The Theory of Everything

I really enjoyed the reaction to this and I can't wait for you both to watch the other fantastic beasts movies

Just a few things to note for this movie. Julie, you were right when you said Bill wasn't the one who worked with dragons. Charlie Weasley is the one who worked with dragons. He didn't actually appear in any of the movies, but they did mention him a couple of times. Charlie is the second oldest Weasley brother. The order from oldest to youngest is Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred & George, Ron, and Ginny. Jacob's laughing outbursts when they were at the bar were because of the drinks. The drinks Jacob was drinking were called giggle water, which made him giggle. If you noticed how odd Newt behaves, it's because he is a very awkward person. Like Hagrid, he seems to have had trouble making friends, preferring to spend time with magical creatures. While Dumbledore was able to get Hagrid a place at Hogwarts after he was expelled, Newt had no such thing. I think Newt is not too used to interacting with other people and can sometimes miss social cues or not consider things others might. Like not even hesitating when opening the bank vault, or all the damage he caused in the jewelry store. He is a very socially awkward person. A fun fact about Newt, he's a Hufflepuff! When it comes to the obscurus, Newt mentioned that there is no record of any child with an obscurus that survived the age of 10. It didn't mean that it was impossible for there to be one older than 10, but they had no proof of one surviving for that long. Credence's actor was around 22 when filming the movie, but I think the character is supposed to be 16. Lastly, some info on the villain. Gellert Grindelwald is actually a character you already met. He was in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. He is the character Voldemort visited in the prison. Grindelwald tells Voldemort where to find the elder wand. To be clear, Grindelwald is the one who has the elder wand before Dumbledore. We also see the younger version of him take the elder wand, who is played by the actor for Vecna from Stranger Things. Grindelwald is not a Slytherin. He wasn't a student at Hogwarts, but at Durmstrang, one of the schools from the Triwizard Tournament. There's actually a bit more history on him in the books, but I believe he meets Dumbledore right after they finish school and start hunting for the Deathly Hallows together. After an argument, there is a three-way duel between Grindelwald, Albus Dumbledore, and Aberforth, which results in Dumbledore's sister being killed. Dumbledore never finds out whose spell was the one to hit his sister.

Wait, that’s actually so cool 😭 I had no idea! Yeah, I don’t think the movies really mention it or maybe I missed it too 😅

Julie Alfa

Yeah, we really liked his personality, he’s so awkward but in such a sweet way 😭

Julie Alfa

Wow, thank you so much!! This really helped us understand things better, we love learning all these details!!

A fun fact: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander is on Harry Potter’s syllabus for his Care for Magical Creature Classes! Also, in one of the movie scenes in POA, Newt is seen walking the castle on the Marauder’s Map! Edit: someone was ahead of me! Sorry lol
