We watched The Shining because you guys told us it connects to Welcome to Derry… and now we have EVEN MORE QUESTIONS 😭

What did we just experience?! This movie is INSANE!! so disturbing, so uncomfortable, and it had us questioning EVERYTHING about “the shining,” the hotel, and what’s really going on the whole time 👀

And Jack… WOW. Absolutely terrifying from start to finish. Straight-up psycho vibes the entire movie 😳

If you could find time, Dr Sleep is a under rated sequel to the shining. It better explains the abilities Shiners can do

Dr sleep is the sequel but yea wow the actors of the husband and wife were really good this movie I liked how genunily fearful the actress portrayed it and the Jack actor was great he was actually Joker in one of the 90's Batman films too ^^

I'll echo the Doctor Sleep recommendation. It was directed by Mike Flanagan, who has also done some fantastic series such as The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass and others. He also did another King adaptation, Gerald's Game, and he also has adaptations of King's "Carrie" and "The Dark Tower" (my personal favorites) in the works. As far as this film, Stanley Kubrick is one of the all-time outstanding directors. I highly recommend more of his films.

The axing the door scene really terrified the mom because they kept redoing it. Jack was a real firefighter and he used that technique to knock down the door and breaking them. Plus the director didn’t like her reaction until he got real fear like an Alfred Hitchcock film.

The photograph at the end implies that Jack's spirit is now part of the hotel alongside the other ghosts. The evil nature of the hotel basically consumes new souls of the people who die there.

Oh yeah, the actors were AMAZING!! The mom and the kid were so convincing, but especially Jack, he was terrifying 😳🔥And wait, I had NO idea he played the Joker?? he really has those perfect psycho vibes hahaha

if dick didnt come to the hotel, the mom and son wouldnt have had a working snowcat to eacape the hotel since jack sabotaged the one they had which is why she couldnt leave when she had jack locked in the closet. So even though dick died as soon as he arrived, his arrival still helped save dani and wendy
