Kierra

Despite being insignificant, I believe it's important to mention that Daniel embraced Maddie in front of her and accompanied her to class when he thought Emma had stood him up, just because he was upset that Emma didn't show up at the beach. And it's like why would he do that? I think it's important to point out that when he gets angry with Emma, he turns to another girl. And not just any girl, but his ex-girlfriend, the same girl who has bullied Emma since she came to school. In my view, that's a manipulative act on his part because Emma doesn't owe him anything. She had something more important to do than hang out on the beach. Although I understand that Maddie's text to Daniel pretending to be Emma saying that she was too busy may have hurt his feelings, I think the way he handled the aftermath shows a lot about him internally. What's the purpose of leading Maddie on just to be petty toward Emma and telling Tony that he doesn't mind if he asks out Emma just because his feelings were hurt? While acknowledging that he's a teenager and may not make the best critical choices, I think this is the first time his 'nice guy' facade has begun to unravel.
