WE'RE FINALLY HERE... THE HOBBIT! 🤯🧙‍♂️✨

After finishing The Lord of the Rings trilogy (which became one of our all-time favorite franchises), we couldn't wait to return to Middle-earth, and now the journey begins with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey!

It was so amazing to see the Shire again, revisit some familiar faces, and finally learn more about Bilbo's story. Watching how he gets the Ring and seeing the first steps of a journey that eventually connects to LOTR made this movie such a fascinating experience. We also got introduced to so many new characters, and honestly, the title couldn't be more accurate, this really was an unexpected journey from start to finish! 😅

We had a great time with this movie and are already excited to continue the trilogy. There were so many details, references, and pieces of lore that we're sure we missed, so please help us out in the comments! We'd love to hear about connections to LOTR, hidden details, and anything that makes this story even more special.

Your right Rachel Gandalf name drops thorin when talking about mithrial in moria. Gimil says it was a kingly gift.

you ate correct about kings gift rachel- in addition to thorin being named dropped in lord of the rings.- the dwarf gloin(hes only a minor character in the company barely speaking)- is gimlis father. also the old white bearded dwarf balin- was mentioned by gimli in fellowship of the ring and his cousin who he thought was lord of moria, but they instead found the tomb of as the dwarfs in moria were dead.

goblins are merely a type of orc that dwell in mountains

the actor christopher lee makes a comment that he thinks sarumaun isnt evil yet, however- the way that he portrays the cgaracter in both this movie and the next- acting suspicious and obviously evil seems at odds with the actors comment as the actir acts in a way that seems like he is evil just from his mannerisms and the way he speaks

Who ultimately destroyed the ring of power? It wasn't Frodo. Imagine how the LotR might have turned out if Gollum had died at him and Bilbo's meeting in The Hobbit or at anytime people wished his death throughout the LotR. Per Gandalf: “Pity? It was Pity that stayed his hand. Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. My heart tells me that Gollum has some part to play in it, for good or ill, before this is over. The pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many”

Thanks for letting us know! 😄 Yeah, we actually found out in The Hobbit 2 that Gloin is Gimli's father, and that reveal was SO cool, especially because it happened during that scene with Legolas!

Rachel really paid attention to that detail 😄
