Now that I'm almost done with book 3, I'm trying to figure out what to work on next. Which would you rather read?

A spin-off series involving a kid working for Lukas. In this scenario, Lukas is a commander/leader running a big crafting organization, guild, and intelligence agency. He has grown the fortress into a massive city. The kid would start off as a healer with a nonhuman best friend for a fun buddy comedy. The protagonist will be a favored cog in the machine and eventually become a key figure in taking out dragon cults and followers of malicious Greater Powers.

This concept will be inspired by a fantasy-horror setting from a homebrew DnD campaign I'm currently DMing. The setting takes heavily from the Ravenloft book. It would be a low-magic world where power comes at great cost and with significant risk. MC would be working for an MIB/CIA-like organization, fulfilling the rogue/warlock archetype. Think Vox Machina, but with a touch of horror, where the characters go on X-Files-like adventures.

I think that doing a Time Skip for shadow clone (assuming you do decided to do a second trilogy fingers crossed) with the spin-off acting as a bridge would be super interesting. You could even do it as a short or series of shorts following different characters in our MC’s organization if you end up doing the Fantasy Men in Black as your next major project. Either way, I’m excited to see where you go next!
