Cindy Moon spent years in a bunker that never let the night in.

When she finally walked out, she didn’t want another hiding place. She wanted the city under her, the wind against a suit that felt like a second skin, and the freedom to stay out as long as she wanted.

The suit was the first thing she made herself. Black and white, poured on so tight it mapped every curve. A red web blooming across her chest with that sharp S at the center. Red gloves. A mask that covered everything except her eyes. She used to wear it because it kept her anonymous. Now she wears it because she likes the way people look at her when they can’t see her whole face.

She patrols the high places after midnight. Rooftops. Cliff edges overlooking the lights. Isolated rocks where the only sound is her own webbing snapping in the dark. She kneels with her hands behind her head and lets the city watch. She sits on stone with her back arched, looking over her shoulder like she’s daring someone to follow. The suit doesn’t leave anything to guesswork. It never did. That used to bother her. It doesn’t anymore.

Sometimes she pulls a strand of web between her fingers just to feel it. Sometimes she doesn’t bother with the mask at all until she’s already on the ledge. The years underground taught her how to disappear. These nights are about the opposite.

Cindy Moon used to be the girl who got locked away so the world wouldn’t notice her.

Now the world notices.

She makes sure of it.
