I have a feeling Hughies mom is a hallucination she hasn't been seen around anyone but Hughie and Starlight hasn't been to the hospital since his mom showed up, I'm thinking she killed herself some time after she left him probably from guilt. No way she knew he had V in his pocket.

Need Annie to go back and finish the job 😤

It's definitely a huge theme of this season that the past comes back to haunt you. I think it's really come through in this episode in particular. Like Kimiko hating Shining Light for what they did to her and then we learn that she abducted the other girl into it. I think a big reason Hughie decided to forgive A-Train is because of that story of Starlight's first save. Whether it's fair or not, the woman who was blinded's family probably feel/felt about Starlight similar to what Hughie felt about A-Train: "an out of control superhero ruined our lives". As always, Antony kind of stole this one. But I think it was a group effort with the writers. I think they all did a great job balancing understanding how fucked up what everybody did to Homelander was as a child and how it's made him the monster he is today, while also never letting you forget that he's unapologetically a monster and is past redemption now. If it's a just world they should be engraving his Emmy already, but we know it won't happen. Last thing: I didn't buy the story Barbara told about Homelander killing his mother during birth. Maybe it's true but they also claimed that about Ryan's birth before and that was a lie. I actually think that his true mother, whether she carried him to term or it was her egg, was Stormfront. We know Soldier Boy knew her when she was Liberty and it would make sense for Vought to use the original if they were trying to make the "perfect" first born superhero. Which of course would open a whole different array of mommy issues for Homelander, considering the..... relationship he had with Stormfront. Seems like something The Boys wouldn't shy away from haha.

If we can forgive Frenchie, then we can forgive A Train as well. Frenchie Killed Colin's entire family. Seriously, all of them have either caused someone's death, or contributed to someone's death. They all have some type of trauma they are dealing with, or not dealing with.

i think it's just harder for us to forgive A Train because we watched nearly 3 seasons of him actively not caring that he killed Robin (among many other people like Popclaw) and would even antagonize Hughie about it 😩 whereas with Frenchie he clearly is very haunted by his past and seems a lot more remorseful. But we are on board for the A-Train redemption arc 🫶🏻

love this analysis! you're so right about the past coming back to haunt them, definitely will be on the lookout for that! and omg the stormfront conspiracy wowowowwwww! that would actually be so insane lmfao but we need it!!!
