Fuck Hoppy. One of my kids is neurodivergent and the other has severe anxiety. I work so hard to be patient and compassionate with their needs - I'm not taking my kids right into into a major red flag DANGER situation for Hoppy. We can survive instead and I'll pay for extra therapy and 100 new Hoppys. We are getting the fuck out (wouldn't have gone but I have boundaries). There are folks like this and they're not stupid, just insecure and suggestible af - being hardcore manipulated by the magic of MacAvoy

wow. just finished the movie and why did Ant make me cry so much🥺…. he was so abused, traumatized, and broken yet still wanted to help them any way he could. i am so happy he finally got his (somewhat) happy ending.. that little boy can act and he didn’t even say much!! he stole the show for me and i’m just so happy he has a family now who actually care for him. LOUISE FUCKING ICON! SHE LITERALLY TOOK ON ALL 3 OF THEM HERSELF! First Paddy with the drano, then Mike with the hammer, then Ciara with the fucking roof tile!! MOTHER. LOVEDDDDD this reaction!

Oh I've just learned that the original was Scandinavian and meant to make a point about Scandinavian culture where, apparently, they're far less likely to speak up in order to be polite and avoid confrontation. I just thought that was informative and put the story/characters in perspective

I honestly hated this movie so much lol. The dad was such a coward and quite literally DID NOTHING to help his family escape this situation. No wonder his wife was sexting another dude 👀 Also - that fucking stuffed animal had me soooo pissed because what do you mean you’re turning around to go get it and back into a dangerous situation? Agnes could cry her little heart out about it on the way back home 🤷🏽‍♀️

This movie was not fun to watch. Frustrating and as a mom terrifying but also AS A MOM I WOULDN’T MAKE ANY OF THE DUMBASS CHOICES THEY MADE to get them to that place. Anyway, I’m glad I watched this movie with my Petty Pumpkins for the first (and only time) because they made it tolerable!

I absolutely loved watching and reacting to this with you both. I'm so glad they decided to favor Louise and Ben, we needed a great comeback story. Also, the red flags were flagging and yet they still decided to stay but I guess I'm kinda glad they did!!
