Oh goodness as an aunt now with a little nephew that is around the same age as the little boy in this film I am realizing how much I have changed my view of the little boy in this film and how much I now truly empathize greatly with his behavior and responses to the trauma. I really adore my nephew and I have been working so hard to help him with his behavior and handling his emotions etc. His mom is really on top of it though and adamant to getting professional insight and guidance. So my heart breaks for the kid in the movie because I now see how vulnerable he is and alone with his deep emotions in trying to desperately cope with the situation he is in and it is just so different for me now watching this as a protective aunt. And I now watch this movie hoping and wishing someone would step in to help him cope and to provide real proper support and guidance and it makes me realize how lucky my nephew is to have his dedicated and caring mom and to also have me to also help guide and support him as well.
