Aww yay! First to watch, like, and comment! ☺️ I haven’t seen this movie since I was like 13 😄 can’t wait to rewatch with yall!!

Yes!!! This is one of my favorite movies ever. It reminds me of my older brothers. They grew up like the greasers, they lost a lot of their friends and they turned their lives around. It made them better men, husbands and fathers. My Dairy Queen order would be steak finger basket and a banana split.

Jonathan Perez

I hope we get “Tex” , with Matt Dillon and Meg Tilly! Soon one of my all time favorite hidden gems

Chrissy

My first time watch too with you both ❤️

M. Annytte Girard

Yes this is also one of my favorites. We read the book for English Class. I watched it in high school era '93-'94. It's a great classic imo; right next to THE GREAT GASBY. It's awesome seeing these guys so young. Stay Golden.

Chrissy

I have no doubt, I love this era

Leticia Hanson

Omg I’m so excited for this! I’ll be back in the morning to watch tho 😴😴

Jen Bee

OMG 😱 🥰🥰🥰 Such a wonderful bedtime treat! 💛🌟

Jonathan

This is the ultimate before they were famous movie.

Jonathan

The other version of the film has a bit slower pace with a lot more footage but I prefer the music in the theatrical to the alternate music in the directors cut.

Jen Bee

OH and speaking of all the reactions featuring the lovely Mr. Swayze on the channel, have y’all seen Dirty Dancing before? If not, I AM BEGGING 🙏🏼 🙏🏼🙏🏼

The main thing I liked about the extended cut was how it framed the narrative like the book. The opening especially is different, but I also grew up with this version, so I love both. If you do end up reading the book, I’d recommend the extended cut, because it’s a better adaptation and there’s more character development.

The author wrote this in 1967, but the publishers told her to use initials, because they were worried it wouldn’t sell as well if people knew it was a female author. Depressing.

My favorite movie fr such a good and different experience

M. Annytte Girard

Another one of my favorites; actually my sister's but we watched it all the time growing up.

I miss the opening Credits; I loved seeing the actors names at the beginning. When I write my Cillian Murphy script; I'm going to request that the producer/director use a title seqence. My FAVORITE meal at DQ was the full meal deal way back in the 80's and early nineties. You got a whole meal plus a token for a free snall sundae. I always got hot fudge. Those were the days when they had DENNIS THE MENNIS Comic motif on their food. BACK in 1994; I remimagined this movie casting Jonathan Taylor Thomas "As the MANE Event" since he had been in LION KING. The director was Matt Damon. The cast also included other young actors from that time; Anna Chlumsky, Thora Birch, Nick Stahl, Rider Strong, and Mike Vitar as Johnny to name a few

I ALSO was accepted to Los Angeles Film School. Not sure I'm eligible for financial aid so may have to put my life long dream on hold. But I really want to attend. I have written many fanfiction and have an original script I wrote back in 2000

I watched this movie with my Mum. (Feb 14, 1940 - July 6, 2023) I miss her so much. Thank you for watching this. You're the best guys. I enjoy your reactions and you're both my favorite reaction channel

I first watched this movie in my 10th grade high school English class after we read the book. I loved both so much. Another one we read and watched that I loved was Lord of the flies. I hope y'all react to the new LOTF show when it comes out too. 🙂

I never read this book in school, and I never saw the movie before today. It was so sad. I probably will read the book, but not right away. I need to let my soul heal a little bit first. The material hits so close to home because kids like these are the kids that I teach. They come from such horrendous backgrounds, and sadly very few of them can overcome them. I wish it weren't that way, and maybe I'm jaded after teaching at a challenging building for my entire career, but it seems true to me. It takes more strength than most people have to rise above your circumstances. And that makes it even more special when someone is able to do it- like it seems Ponyboy may be able to. Great watch even though I was rooting with my whole heart for Sense and Sensibility to win. 😃

I was obsessed with this movie and book as a teenager 😭 so so good 🥹 also, y’all should check out Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze if you haven’t already!! One of my faves!!

Selina

I feel like they showed this movie every weekend on TBS when I was in middle school and I'm not complaining.

Yall another story and this is from my mom..........so Matt Dillon went to the same high school I went to but he was a lot older of course So another super long story short..........my mom said she was taking me to the grocery store as a baby and Matt was there and he came over to my mom to talk to her and asked to pick me up and said I was a gorgeous baby!!! So of COURSE I had to say that Matt Dillion said I was GORGEOUS!!!😍🤭😍😻😍🤭😍So the rest of the story was that my aunt always said that he was probably too shy to say my mom was pretty because my mom never has thought she was pretty despite the fact that she used to model back a few years prior to that day..........we lived in Queens but had family that moved to Mamaroneck where Matt Dillon and his family lived..........so we eventually moved to the area. Anyways I have more celebrity stories about my mom I can drop if a movie pops up with one of the actors. Some of the stories are quite funny. My mom always looked a lot younger so my aunt said she thinks Matt was a bit taken aback because people would always assume my mom was my nanny when she was in that area when I was a baby. She has always been super humble and does not think she was anything great but let me tell ya yall I betcha Matt was like🙀😻🙀when he saw my mom and was probably super disappointed when he saw my chubby baby butt waddling on over hahahahaha But I still have a story that he picked me up and said I was gorgeous but obviously I was just a chubby little baby hahahaha 😆

The man that didn't go into the church played Ed on FRIED GREEN TOMATOES. I didn't like him then and I don't like him here. Just sitting there watching the church burn, much like he sat on his recliner and watched his marriage with Miss Kathy Bates' Evelyn burn.

Melinda

S.E. Hinton started writing The Outsiders when she was 15, which is about how old I think I was when I read it the first time. Maybe a few years younger. It was one I read again and again. Looking back at it, some of the plot points feel like they came from a young writer, but it still works for me. Rob Lowe has interesting stories in one of his autobiographies about the casting and how most of the actors read for most of the parts and how the auditions lasted for days.

This was required reading when I was a Sophomore✌️💖

I should also add that was about a decade before the movie came out😂
