I’m weirdly enjoying this season. I agree, some of the writing is a little iffy, but Levinson at least knows how to direct and make it feel cinematic. I also didn’t have high hopes for these characters, so this is about what I would expect for them post-HS lmao

re: our comments about Jules and Lexi...everything we said is under the assumption that Jules didn't realize this was for a soap opera lol. cause surely she would realize if this was going to be on broadcast television not to draw so many dicks...??? lol help 😩

i think we just assumed she wouldn't do that?? lol 🙈😩 so we kind of thought Lexi didn't even fill her in on that, it seemed like she just kinda dropped her off and peaced out lollll. but seeing a lot of people online criticizing Jules which makes sense if she just didn't really care or consider that it was supposed to be commercial art....lol anyways it doesn't matter that much but it feels like this could've been cleared up a bit in the writing!

idk, i feel like if you know (or just found out) that your friend works for a popular tv show, she offers you an opportunity to have your art seen on the show, and explicitly states that it gets about 7 million weekly viewers you would at least do a cursory google search on the show and see that it's on network television. she also DID give Jules the prompt of George Serat, but told her to make it her own. glad to see you guys engaging in this discourse! the fact that so many people are divided/confused is kind of a sign of lazy and ambiguous writing tbh.

The police had nothing on Rue. She fell for the oldest trick in the book. The “you’re a good kid, we don’t want to ruin your life” crap. If there is nothing I have learned from true crime, it’s the ways of the police and justice system. It’s crazy.
