Happy 50th anniversary Carrie ❤️❤️❤️

Joe Crammond

super excited for the upcoming tv series, mike flannigan at the helm with Summer Howell in the lead role and the legendary Matthew Lillard playing a prominent role, time will tell if it lives up to the standard of this film

The Movie Buff

Carrie did what needed to be done honestly. Now the gym teacher didn’t deserve that but everyone else sucked come to find out the Norma is in Halloween as well. Carrie is at its core a tragedy Carrie deserved better

I'll never stop being surprised how King managed to write such a nuanced portrait of a young woman in his FIRST published novel, and then flubbed it for so goddamn long after that lol. Thank you for the lovely reaction, pumpkins.

The Movie Buff

Sue is an interesting character in all honesty she’s just at fault for not owning up to what she did and apologizing to Carrie for making fun of her in the shower. Yes she did try to have good intentions but she went about it in the wrong way. Tommy looked like he actually fell in love with Carrie which is why he kissed her Carrie loved his poem and it was the first time she had a great interaction with someone who was willing to get to know her other than her gym teacher

Sabrina

I completely forgot that John Travolta was in this, so that cut to him was a slight jumpscare 😵‍💫 Such a great movie, but man this story is so fucking tragic 💔

Amanda Caroline

While yall have that MGM yall should definitely plan to react to you know whaaaattt 😇 I am strongly holding out hope that we will get it sometime during spooky season maybe?!? 🙏🏼🫶🏼🙏🏼

Tara M. Wilcoxon

Great performances! To this day, I have to take a cleansing breath after watching some scenes.

I’m sold knowing Mike Flanagan’s at the helm. I have loved his work since Dr. Sleep.

Dakota Hill

My mom said my grandma had no idea what was happening when she got her period either.

Lavender Violet

Not the point at all, but I can't look at William Katt without visualizing him in his "Greatest American Hero" costume. 😂 Literally every single time I see the man, no matter the role. I can't unsee it. I also hear the theme song in my head. What can I say? I'm a child of the 80's. 🤷‍♀️

Yanira

Love this movie. I first watched it as a child and had the same damn nightmare every night about Carrie 😫

Nicole Mazza

I AM EXACTLY THE SAME! (Also, an 80s kid)

William Tanner

I was 5 years old when this came out. It's one of the first movies I ever saw, when it premiered on TV a year or two later. I'm Gen X and my parents didn't monitor what I watched. 😜 The prom scene and what followed was pretty scary to me then, but looking at it tonight, I just thought it was incredibly tragic. So very sad. And it's a study in female rage.

Janice Wolk

Kudos to Pino Donaggio- the musical composer for this film. The music is amazing- eerie and emotional- and really contributes to the feel of the movie.

StevieWayne16

He was my first celebrity crush as the Greatest American Hero 😂

A slap in the face by a teacher was not unheard of back then. I went to Catholic school for a few years and the nuns would smack you and sometimes you didn't even know why.🤚 Betty Buckley was on a show called "Eight Is Enough" after this, costarring with Dick Van Patten. She was the mom we all wished we had.📺 I've never heard of a school dance that you HAD to have a date to go.💃 Too bad there wasn't a mama sow in with those pigs. She would have torn those boys apart!🐄🐮

Sky

This movie has always felt special to me because I grew up on Elm Street and my mom’s name is Kerrie. It would have been so much better if the spelling was the same. 😂

Corpius

Carrie, emma frost, and jean grey are my favorite telekinetic queens.

Kristin Weiss

This was my 1st time watching Carrie, and I loved it!! Omg it was so good!! 👏👏👏 For more Piper Laurie and cherry pie 🥧, Twin Peaks will be waiting 🥰

Erin G

Please please please do react to the upcoming Mike Flanagan Carrie series!

Daniel Turbyfill

The opening locker room scene is completely driven by the straight male gaze.

Selina

Sissy Spacek, I'll love you forever.

Emily

First time watching Carrie!! I’m so happy I got to watch with you guys 🙂

Patricia Grant

Great commentary! This movie never gets old. I feel like it hits different every time I've seen it. I felt bad for Sue though. She meant well, and she was sorry for her actions with the other girls. Tommy got caught up in the middle of the horror. He was sincere in the way he treated Carrie. Also, you guys looked really cute. I love your shirts. 🥰

Michael Matthew

The 2013 version is probably my favorite but I do adore this version as well! Such a tragic story.

FictionLover

I always got the impression that her mother was assaulted. Just because she said she liked it does not mean she was not coerced into it.

Chrissy

An absolute classic! I actually really liked the remake with Chloe Grace Moritz. (The girl who plays Chris in the remake is absolutely evilly brilliant). Can’t wait for the Mike Flanagan vision!

Chrissy

Wild they laugh at Carrie when she arrives and she looks beautiful

Melinda Chase

You guys should watch the sequel, The Rage Carrie 2- it was made in 99 and although its not known by all, its fantastic

Stephanie Ella

"Thinner", "Pet Sematary", and "A Good Marriage" please. 🙏🏻

Stephanie Ella

"Believe it or not, I’m walking on air.." 🤣 I’m an ‘80’s kid too. 🙌🏻

Andrea Nolan

Carrie and I both turned 50 in August... and now it's menopause 'got us crying on the shower floor 😭😆
