James Rogers

After spending a month binging horror films, this made for an interesting transition piece. Stylistically and tonally, this film is all over the map. I can't think of many 'family friendly' films that have a scene like the one on the boat. So you get surrealist imagery juxtaposed with traditional musical fare juxtaposed with corn-ball humor juxtaposed with snarky cynicism ... I still like this film after all these years. Primarily because I love Gene Wilder's performance. He does great deadpan work. Thanks guys.
