This wasn’t my favorite two parter. Particularly when they didn’t give us who the Cylons were! But, I loved your reaction. And Giaus Giausing is always amusing.

Humans originated from kobol where they lived in harmony with the gods (also known as the lords of kobol) Big bad thing happened and there was an exodus to the 12 colonies in one direction to one set of solar systems..another group previously left on their own to go to their colony…called earth…BEFORE the exodus to the 12 colonies Meanwhile we know there are also 12 skin job models of cylons. And also we know that their where 12 original battlestar models (of which galactica is one) Humans settled on the 12 colonies like 3,000 years ago and had kept most of their tech knowledge after travelling from kobol to the colonies…hence their technology is broadly similar to ours but also more advanced with respect to having jump drive FTL and also having made AI called cylons that rebelled 40 years ago…came back with skin job models and almost completely genocided humans…

Loved the discussion at the end. All this has happened before, and all this will happen again.
