I find it entertaining how much you are annoyed by the Kara-Lee romance LOL. When the show first aired, I shipped them, so I loved every second of the soap opera. I can't say without spoilers if/how it relates to the story going forward, but I agree that in hindsight it was a bit too much love triangle/square.

Desperately want to say what the love quadrangle leads up to later on, but it's the making of Lee as a character and as a man. That's all I'll say. It's very poignant. Searching so far defines him. I've often thought he represents the voice of the average person in the fleet. Absolute Non spoiler: When Lee procrastinates in life and is not on his true purpose he creates problems for himself.
