This is such a great treatise on the absurdity of religious dogma and zealotry in general. It courted a fair amount of controversy and was banned in some countries. John Cleese and Michael Palin participated in a debate on the merits of the film on the BBC in 1979 (I believe the footage can be found on YouTube). It is well worth watching. Bright Side of Life was indeed written for this film and helps make the final shot one of the most iconic in the history of cinema. Words to live by. 😇

2 Things: the first is kinda boring - First time I full-watched with y'all. 👏 👍 🤌😂🤣 But...I had a smidge of trouble syncing with y'all. You CAN legally show the first 5-8 seconds...which *really* helps with syncing. The time stamp was genuinely helpful - but a smidge off as my bluray has an extra studio-blech at the start that yours didn't...and a few seconds ruin jokes/reactions. I *know* very few of us watch the full-length, but lining it up... makes the magic! My second "point" I'll comment on the YT as a comment ever so slightly helps, I guess?
