Great reaction! I loved Razor. Yes, Lee ordered Kara to stay behind and set off the nuke. I think it was because he trusted her above anyone to complete the mission.

Michelle Forbes is like the female version of Edward James Olmos, very charismatic. Beautiful, but most unnerving performer. Striking.

So is Starbuck the fifth? Or the harbinger of death that leads them all to their end?…or both?…or something else?…

Sheri

I love Michelle Forbes. What a great actress. She nailed this role.

You know that angel of Aurora she gave Adama to put on the bow of that model wooden ship...well.

Apologies…I’m joining this viewing a week late, but I wanted to throw in a couple comments. (I watched the full extended version, btw, which if I remember correctly contains more footage of Cain as a child and of her failure to save her sister Lucy.) I thought at first that there was a child inside the locked/welded door that young Adama discovered in the lab where the first hybrid was experimented on, and where those prisoners from the ship Diana were kept. Then I wondered if that could be Cain’s sister Lucy. But it can’t be… the scene with young Adama took place at the same moment Lucy was abducted, and on far distant planets. So that theory went up in smoke. Second comment- the first hybrid revealed to Shaw that he knew he was going die, but he stated he would be going on to a new purpose, a new incarnation. I find that interesting…is there a relationship between him and the “not-Leoben” that leads Starbuck to reconcile with her mother in the Maelstrom? After all, Starbuck says to him at the end, “You’re not Leoben.” And he replies, “Never said I was.” Or is the not-Leoben someone else entirely? Unanswered questions. Finally, I never noticed this before, but when young Adama parachutes through roof of the cylon lab and beats the floor-bound cylon to death with a steel pipe—it’s a direct reference to older Adama beating the first incarnation of Leoben to death with a flashlight in the opening miniseries. These things have happened before indeed, and will happen again. And again. Good episode, and good commentary!
