The show has idled in cruise control for 30 episodes. It is now about to take off like a rocket, and break tons of American sitcom "rules", and do unprecedented things for a US TV network comedy. This show is a special, amazing thing.

Rob Lowe's career is an interesting phenomenon. He was a teen movie star in the 1980s, popular and decorative with necessarily making a great impression as an actor. Then he was a bit out of the limelight for a while, occasionally emerging in unexpected projects like Wayne's World and The Stand, until The West Wing showed him as a gifted light comedic actor, wonderfully well suited to the TV medium. And he's remained a TV presence ever since. Adam Scott probably made his first big impression as Ben Wyatt; he'd done good work on TV before without necessarily getting his name recognized (including a very good if short-lived and little-watched comedy series just before this, Party Down). But this is where he got a showcase with a big audience to show how good he could be.

I (shyam) really liked the west wing, I used to watch it randomly on Tv. Agree with Adam Scott I don't think I remember him from anything else, I guess he has become a lot more famous after parks and then going on to do Severance
