And I thought the revelation that everybody on Earth was cylon was the darkest most haunting moment in the series, then i wondered at the time did they get their history wrong and maybe everybody is synthetic and always was, then 10 minutes later...

Good spot on Tigh finding his true identity accepting it and not needing alcohol much, a lesser story would have spelt it out. I genuinely don't think there's a better modern story of perseverance than Battlestar, it has its cake and eats it too. I used to do an impression of Adama's drunken insulting of Tigh to my friend for laughs, it's so meaty and funny on rewatches🤣

Your final 5, earth and starbuck questions will all be answered eventually. No need to spoil you. :-)

What an episode!

In the show’s Universe, everyone started on Kobol. There was a disaster there and they fled Kobol and founded the 12 colonies. This episode purports that the 13th colony were always cylons and they found Earth. I think you can speculate that just like the “humans,” they fell into the cycle of self destruction and destroyed their civilization. One of the most painful things about Dee’s storyline was that it felt so true. Of course someone would lose hope after that. She had already made her decision when she accepted that date with Lee, she just wanted to have one final night of happiness before she did.

We actually thought this was possibly the series finale due to a writers strike. We had to wait a LONG time for this episode after episode 10

Everyone was on kobol living with the gods the lords of kobol. At some point the 13th tribe who where all always cylon, left and found earth and started a society and made their own cylon centurions and they rose up and nuked themselves…except the 5….and then a few thousand years later some stuff went down on kobol humans left kobol in some disastrous exodus and they found the 12 planets which became the colonies…they built cylon centurions and they rose up 40 years ago galactica was new. And then they came back with skin jobs and killer almost ever human on the colonies….
