Content

I was thinking to make short Visual Novels based on different in-game characters. These VNs will depict important events, decisions taken, choices made by the characters. Basically a glimpse of their past. This in return give the audiences a chance to know their favorite character in depth and help the game's consistency in the script/plot.

Want to know what you'll think about this ?

Focus on the main game first.

Ok so according to the polls for the time being I will put a hold on this thought. Maybe after a few updates we can discuss about it again.

I don't mind the idea of mini-VNs that can fill in key background elements. Especially if it's a bit complex to tell the backstory or if you need a different game mechanic to tell it or if there will be several events. Also a good idea if you plan multiple games with the same characters and you want to collect all the back-story events into one "character-intro" game that can be played before people play the main games. Standalones make them accessible (i.e. don't need a save in the right place in the main game), but on the other hand, standalone means you're not making content for the main game. Standalones are useful though to do a content release if for some reason the main game is held up. An idea would be that if you make them standalones (say versus in-game flashbacks), you look to inject them into the main game as a "Gold Edition" so that fans that find the game new (after you've completed it) can play it all at once.
