Hey everyone! 👋

To make sure you get the best experience and avoid any common glitches, I have put together this complete guide on how to install your new maps, whether you are playing by yourself or setting up a server for your community.

Here is everything you need to know! 👇

🕹️ 1. How to Install on Singleplayer

Download the map and extract the .zip file. 📂

Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run menu. ⌨️

Type %appdata% and press Enter.

Open the .minecraft folder, and then open the saves folder. 📁

Drag and drop the extracted map folder right in there! 📥

Open Minecraft (make sure you are running the correct version for the map, usually 1.21+) and the world will show up in your singleplayer list! 🎮✨

🌐 2. How to Install on a Server (Multiplayer)

Download and extract the map's .zip file. 📂

Access your host's control panel or use your FTP client. 🖥️

Upload the extracted map folder to your server's main directory. 📤

CRITICAL STEP (If the map has Height Limit Datapack): Open your server.properties file and change the max-build-height to match the map's exact height limit (usually 1024 or 2032). If you skip this, the server will chop off the top of the mountains! ⛰️✂️

To make the server load the map, you have two options:

Option A (Main World): In server.properties, find the line that says level-name= and change the text to the EXACT name of the map folder you just uploaded. Save the file and restart your server! 🔄

Option B (Using Multiverse): While the server is running, type /mv import foldername normal in your console (replace "foldername" with the exact name of the uploaded folder). Note: Don't forget to also adjust the height limit in the Multiverse worlds.yml file! 🌍

⚠️ 3. Important Warnings & Bug Fixes

🏔️ Cut-Off Mountains? If you loaded the map on a server before changing the height limit to 1024/2032, the server already saved the cut-off terrain. To fix it, apply the height settings, delete the map folder, and upload a fresh copy!

⚙️ Mod Conflicts: These custom maps don't always play nicely with mods that generate new structures, ores, or vegetation. They might force their own generation and mess up the custom landscape. I recommend a clean setup for the best visual experience!

🌑 Dark Sky Bug (1.21.11, 26.1, 26.2): If your sky stays dark during the daytime, your datapack needs an update. Go to the map's datapacks folder, delete the old worldpainter.zip, and replace it with the updated datapack (check my previous Patreon posts for the updated file).
