Mortali Gendarme (Patreon)

Mortali Gendarme Among the knights, the gendarmes are the heaviest armored and armed members of any order, often seen as exemplars for their brothers to follow. Although there is overlap between knights' titles and champions, one does not have to be a champion to serve as a gendarme. However, the Honored Ones of A'arab Zaraq do serve as great champions, distinguished by the privilege of serving the Black Pope directly.
In Aeternum 1
The armored exterior of the Caspian tanks proved a challenge for the knights and their demonic beasts. They had faced a similar problem against the war machines that came alongside the dreaded Vampire Knight to relieve the Krakens in Maglenia. Yet, they had clearly been withdrawn from the battlefield; the knight could not recall seeing a single one since Maglenia. A storm of bullets whizzed past his head. He knew that the tank would withdraw before it ran out of ammunition. He couldn't allow that, even if it meant his eternal soul; he had to slay the tank. If he managed to clear the distance and board the soulless machine, he could easily slaughter its crew. The knight looked around the rubble and ruins; there had to be a way. While the crew was distracted by the incoming wave of corpses, he would make his move. A mad dash across the ruins all the way towards the second floor of the building. He would then jump and kill the commander in the hatch and make quick work of the rest within.
By his imminent grace, let armor crash against armor, soul grind against soul, blood shed blood. God's language is that of might. The Caspian tank faced off against the incoming Nezhit horde, mowing them down with ease; each round ripped into the soft flesh of the meek masses. It was the rhythm of death. One, two, three, the knight jumped onto the top of the tank and plunged his kriegsmesser into the skull of the tank's commander. The sweet rhythmic hymn of the tank fell silent. As the knight stood above it all, countless Nezhit littered his view, his brothers dead from the engagement. What their leader Falconi was planning was not clear to him; at this rate, the Caspians would surely best them.
