The World of the Tridactyls

A world in which the concept of the immaterial is dispelled by the advent of the Organoid Technology. The ambitious projects of mankind in the middle period of the 21st century brought about through the collapse of the prior global order via the 3rd world war and the mass shortage of Semiconductors which brought the infrastructure that the world was built on crashing down.

The Organoid Technology was created to replace the scarce Semiconductors, made from human cells, Organoids started off as small neurological pathways which offered far superior performance to the traditional methods. With time they would become more complex, manifesting into Semibrains, a technology that was capable of far surpassing any advancements in the prior decades.

Human life was improved tremendously and with the utilization of spare bodies for organ, limb transplants, and eventually the full body transplants. Human life was extended. Yet something peculiar was established, a new precedent on the nature of human consciousness. The concept of a soul and that of a divine spark was snuffed out by the experiments of the Panterra Corporation. With the creation of the first lab grown humans, they were no different, the question of the soul was redundant, but the precedent for the ownership and engineering of these humans was cemented. Panterra and its rivals would begin to create new specialized humanoids, selling it to the public as not creatures, but tools.

The consolidation of power and the stratification of mankind.

By the 22nd century the governments that lingered on from the early 21st century held no authority over the Corporations, this would lead to the Seven Day National Dismantlement War, in which the Corporations would crush the governments of the world and assume total control. The new rulers of the world would set their sights towards the stars, pushing aggressively for the colonization and exploitation of space.

With the colonization of the inner solar system achieved by the early 23rd century with plans to expand to the outer reaches in motion, the scales of power and balance that the Corporations saw to uphold where tilted with the death of the 223 year old CEO of Talos Industries and his unexpected return from death via unknown means. This would radicalize the workers of Talos Industries into fanatics and believers in Taloisim, which would erupt into the First of the Taloite Jihads, a brutal conflict that would devastate the inner solar system. This war would cut off the outer system colonies and generational ships from the inner system.

The radicalized believers of Talos would consider themselves more than just workers, employees, clients, customers, support, and consumers. They would consider themselves saved, as Talos offered them an existence post death, for only a small lifetime fee of money and service. Talos Industries would begin the construction of the White Chambers, floating constructions meant to house the faithful dead in a true afterlife.

By the 25th Century the Talos Conglomerate had crushed the last of its rivals in the inner solar system, cementing them as the only Corporations and power within. This would last until the end of the century and the arrival of the outer solar system power, the Jovian Empire. The once small and isolated outer system colonies had grown over the centuries and unified under the authority of the Jovian Emperor, under the war cry of purity and divinity, they came with machines of war made of metal and steel. The Century of War.
