Magnific.ai Comparison and Review (Patreon)

I've seen several people use magnific.ai which is a website that upscales your images and uses AI to further enhance images by adding details and re-imagining the image. This is similar to krea.ai which is free. magnific.ai currently has a 50% off promo (FREEPIKMAGNIFIC) which brought down the price from a ridiculous $40/mo to a more reasonable $20/mo. This allows me to test out the upscaler and upscale any images I have been wanting to try as well as play with different settings.

The first image is highly "creative" setting which is a little too much for my liking. The second image is perfect; more detail is added, it's cleaner, it's sharper. This takes many of my images that I really like to another level. Will I use it for more than this month? Unlikely. Is it better than upscayl and krea.ai? Yes. You can also see it adding extra details and an unwanted face in the moon in the 4th image, with the 5th image being the midjourney original. This is an easy fix but an example of how it "imagines" and functions.

The setting that I prefer the most with the little amount of testing which resulting in the 2nd image is as follows:

Optimize for 3d render
Creativity: 3
HDR: 5
Resemblance: 3
Fractality: 1
Engine: Automatic

The kind of image that you feed it will matter as to how the settings should be tweaked.

I will be posting some past images and future images using this upscaler as it does enhance a lot of images.
