Macabre gore prompt for midjourney + process (Patreon)

Wanted to share a prompt and a trick to make bloody horror images in midjourney even though there is a filter in place that generally does not allow you to make such images. There are always things you can do to tweak the prompt to get around filters and this goes for many other generators including bing/dalle3. The prompt used for this image as shown in the first image was:

Step 1: Smart prompting

This is in midjourney using the niji engine in a portrait aspect ratio (4:5). Niji can get quite realistic with the right wording. In this case I use words such "photo" and "hyperrealistic" multiple times to amplify what I want to generate. Certain words are blocked automatically so instead of lobotomy for example, we replace the letter with a zero, the AI will still understand what you meant and uses context from your other words as well.

Step 2: Enhance

Not every image will be as brutal or realistic as this, so re-running a prompt many times is something I do every single time. Once you have a good image, you can further enhance it. In this cases (image 2) we used magnific.ai which is a paid service to make it photorealistic. There are other services such as krea.ai that can re-imagine or enhance images.

Step 3: Polish

Image 3 is another magnific version but was enhanced even further by taking it into photoshop (image 3) and adjusting color, brightness, contrast, etc. For images that have flaws such as weird artifacts or extra or missing fingers, this is something I fix in this step as well if I care enough about the image. For the rare instance you need to print or deliver the image in a large format, I would then take it to Gigapixel AI or at the very least, the free Upscayl program to double or quadruple the resolution.
