Saturday Update! (Patreon)

Good morning, hello!

I must be honest, I've had a pretty difficult week. I've been struggling a lot with anxiety and insomnia, as I usually tend to in the summer months [ anxiety all summer depression all winter LMAO ]

It's been spiked a little extra since Willow had a vet appointment [ everything is fine, she just needed some vaccines and I got a new prescription food to hopefully reduce her vomiting which has been an ongoing battle since I got her ]

Also, another couple people messaged me to offer condolences about a lot of people hating me on tiktok [ please don't do this btw. I wouldn't even know if you didn't tell me and it's not like I can do anything about it other than be miserable ] and on top of that, another person contacted me just this morning to ask me questions for their thesis about the harms of dark media on young people since 'there’s a lot of young people consuming your work'. They did not seem malicious in any way so I agreed to help with their thesis, but obviously it just... sucks to even be considered for this. I've tried everything I can think of to stop minors from consuming my work, yet it seems I'm losing the battle anyway. Is this really what I'm known for? I feel ashamed, conflicted, and demoralized.

So yeah. Feeling a bit run over and chewed up. I don't think the work I did last week was very good either. I promise I tried my best and put in everything I could every day. It just wasn't as good or as much as usual.

Still, I'll dig up some examples.

Oh, I did also do some debugging as well. It's not really something I can show you guys, but there was a pretty irritating bug causing the save files to visually misalign if someone had filled all 8 slots [ no matter which slot was filled as the 8th ]. Turned out it was cause by an invisible new paragraph character present in a filled slot but not an empty one, so I've fixed that and realigned everything so the save system works and looks good again.

Willow was very brave at the vet, but she also did let the tech know all of her Thoughts and Opinions™

She felt much better at home, and she's already eating her new prescription food after a quick tricking by smearing some of her old wet food on top of it 😂

I'm sorry for the bummer tone of my update this week. I'm having a rough time, but I'll be okay. I'll rest for the weekend and I'll start fresh next week. I'll always keep going forward, and I'll finish this project. Even if just for myself.

Thank you guys for your support and kindness as well. I hope my dismay at the hatred I get from the wider internet doesn't imply that I'm ungrateful for the support that I do get. I won't take you guys for granted and I won't give up.
