Saturday Update! (Patreon)

Good morning starshine! The earth says hello!

I had another clumsy and moderately productive week! I am still fighting the endless headache demons. My new theory is that it might be cluster headaches? The fact that it's lasted like a month now seems to fit and I have a bunch of the other symptoms [ my lungs hurt but they often do because I have shitty lungs 😂 ] Dr. Google, who only finished clown school, says that people sometimes get treated for cluster headaches with 15 mins of oxygen. So I translated that to 'wear a breathe-right nose strip overnight' and y'know. I think it actually helped! Gonna keep doing that.

As for the game work, we are now sitting at 655 placeholder sprites and 37 background images [ not all of these are full backgrounds, some are buttons to be placed on top of backgrounds ]

and this is about how much of the script I have covered 😅

So... yeah. Still a lot of placeholders to do. The art in this game is turning out to need a lot more images than Strade did. Which is weird because in terms of text/choices, I think the script is shorter than Strade's was. I haven't been able to re-use sprites very much.

It is what it is though. I could try and change the style and reduce how much art there is, but I don't really see the value in that? The whole point of these projects has been to push myself to make the best art I can. So, I march forward.

I also streamed again on Friday and got a lot of the colouring work done for the front cover of Love Like Drowning! [ For anyone new here, I have been working on a side project, which is drawing a new cover for Love Like Drowning by Carson Wulff. I'm drawing one picture for the front and another for the back, then it'll be used for printing with a new cover when people order printed copies on Amazon! This is fun for me and has been a nice break from my usual work, so please be patient with me for this side project! 🙏 it's just Fridays for a few weeks ]

Here's the front cover art so far- but it's NOT DONE YET! It's pretty close to complete, but I need to tune up some stuff, colour the knife, add the front of the plastic barrel, and colour the surface of the water properly [ that semi transparent blue water surface there is just a placeholder that helped me colour the other stuff first ]
