Good morning folks! Happy weekend and beginning of spooky month!
I think I was fairly productive last week, at least in terms of sprite numbers- mostly hit my quotas. I feel like I didn't get too far in the script but the chunk I'm working on is kinda dense with images and screen effects 😅[ You know how things can get with Lawrence... ]
My health situation is getting better, I think. I talked with my family doctor on Monday about my concerns and she explained my test results to me and helped me choose a treatment plan. Funny plot twist- I actually AM iron deficient as well LMAO. I had high hemoglobin but my iron result was 18 [ 100 is ideal, over 35 is apparently 'good enough' ]. So I have that issue and high blood pressure.
My doc wanted some more info, so I went to the lab and got a couple more blood vials taken yesterday. The tech was very nice but she popped me like an excited 2nd grader opening a capri sun and my arm HURTS now 😂 must've got a nerve. Luckily it's the end of the week and that'll be healed by Monday.
My new medication for the blood pressure gave me some rough side effects in the middle of the week. My chest was tight and I was SO dizzy. Luckily those seem to be improving though. I still feel off, but I think I'm improving. I've had a bit more energy I think.
I'll be getting a pelvic ultrasound next week to see if I have anything fucked up in there causing problems. Until then, I'll just keep taking iron supplements and my new medication.
I have begun cooking dinners for myself again. I am pushing myself to switch to home cooking to improve my health. It seems that living off prepackaged frozen food and grocery deli sandwiches isn't going to cut it. I've started checking everything I buy for sodium, and I have to admit, it's been rough. Kind of a painful wake up call. But, I'm ready to put in more effort and make a change. I have to fix this shit and make my games.
[ Pictured above is a dish I call 'The Slop'. It's a slow simmered tomato/garlic/meat sauce with roasted red peppers, spinach, a whole bunch of red lentils, and tteokbokki style rice cakes- finished with mozzarella. A very thick and chewy slop. I like it though. ]
Anyway, here's some placeholder previews!

Willow corner!
Gonna keep working on my health! Hopefully the cooking will help long term and reduce the need for medication eventually!
Stay safe and get cozy! October time! Thank you all so much for your support, and see you next week!
