Hi everyone! This will be the last 'official Saturday update' for a little while since I'll be taking December off. I'm going to try and get some more work done anyway, but I won't be home enough to declare it a 'Hunt Month'.

[ So don't forget to remove your pledges if you want! ]

Over the last week I've been chewing away at the editing for Derek's path. I am becoming acutely aware that I may have 'overdone it' for Derek's path in general as I'm going over the content again X'D

I've technically only covered 4 endings so far [ out of.... 21... ] But I've added 22 CG placeholders. This is mostly because I've been covering long, complicated encounters that happen at the beginning of the route. I edited two main encounters with Derek which can be non-lethal if you make certain choices. Derek also has a bizarrely high amount of sexual content if the option is enabled.

Oh, and I fixed a major game-breaking bug =_=;;; The game stalled out on a black screen right on startup and I hadn't realized for a long time because I was loading saves. It turned out that some code I added back in Celia's path was breaking the screen where you enter your name at the beginning. That unfortunately took a couple hours to figure out and fix ;-;

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little worried about how dense the content is for Derek's path. It's certainly daunting and I've been fighting some stress and worry over it. 

However, I'm going to continue as I'm going for now, and then when we start the closed alpha testing, I can ask my alpha testers how they feel about the amount of content and if it will be worth the longer wait for me to complete all that art in the future- or if the CGs need to be pared down.

If you'd like to be an alpha tester in the future [ I'm hoping to get 9 people ], and you'd like me to contact you when I start looking for people, you can just leave a comment on this post and I'll know to ask you first when the time comes! The main requirements are going to be that people sign a non-disclosure agreement [ a promise not to talk to about the game online or spread files ], send me a pic of ID [ I really REALLY can't have minors sneaking in and actually working on the game ], and be okay with testing the sexual content.

CLUTCHING MY HEART, MY THROBBING GAY HEART, FOR DEREK ALREADY also I would love to alpha test but I'm looking WAY forward to getting the full experience on my first go so I have to back down from the wonderful idea of being an alpha tester! However if you're hard pressed for 9 people (I doubt it) I'll be willing to offer my help but just like...let me be a last choice y'know? The only downside is I will LOVE everything you've done no matter WHAT so my opinion will be very biased

A meaty path like Derek's seems like a mountain to climb now, but once it's finally finished I'm sure it will be worth it, both for the experience and the sense of accomplishment. I would definitely like to throw my hat into the ring as an alpha tester. I can give as much or as little feedback as you'd like, and I'm very much older than 18 (sigh). Either way, have a great holiday, you've been doing so well!

Have a great December, Gato~! Derek (and crew) is going to be so much fun! Hahaha, the overwhelming sexual content is very appropriate. You can feel the horny aura emanating from the screen just by glancing at him! I'm excited to be shocked~ That is a lot of CGs and I think it's important to get the image you want of the game out there, but also... it's important to pace yourself. I would wait forever for the game to be released because I'm that excited for it AND I understand how much work is going into it! You're one person!! I hope the alpha testers help you with such a dilemma. Speaking of, I'd love to help you! I don't have an experience doing it before (usually devs want people with experience and it's hard to get your foot in the door) AND I already have made an impact in the game with the inclusion of Tom, but~! If you're okay with that, you can throw my name into the alpha tester potentials! Anyways, this is an essay, so I've leave you with one last thought! Congratulations with figuring out the bug! It can be so frustrating to pour time and energy into them, but I hope you feel proud for fixing it! Gold stars all around!

You should make them send a picture of themselves doing something specific too. To make sure it's actually their ID and they didn't just ask a older friend for an ID. Just a suggestion though. I'm sure you know what you're doing. 😁

I see you've got a number of volunteers already but of course I would be more than willing to be a tester for you if you need one. I'll go all through a path trying to find anything that might be an issue XD That being said, I hope you have a good December, I'm glad you're taking the month off (at least officially) so you'll make sure to pencil in that time to relax and get away from the game. Don't work too hard!
