All right. Takes a deep breath. Commend your soul to the God-Emperor.

This chapter is 28000 words long, and there is no peace among the stars.

Here we go, into the fires of battle, unto the anvil of war...

Omggg, you're the best Antony... Best gift from the hand of Holy emperor

frank schellingerhout

all hail the beautiful words will be interesting to see what the skaven will be up to always found it odd they prayed to the horned rat and not nurgle yay for taylor having her own mothra :D here is hoping we can get a list of all stc recovered and all bounty's that need to be paid its going to be a long one so much paperwork

Boris Michenski

Well, that's it... So in the end it was Scavens, who worship Malal... wonder how did they end in that box. And now we have a Blackstone fortress! Whatever left will attack with desperation - just because they don't have anywhere else to go. And they goona be massacred. Just what will happens to Slaanesh? It seems more and more likly that assault from three others 'God' will end her. And the fact it is about to go right into a new trap won't help matters... But honestly, I'd say that Slaanesh weakened and cornered but still fighting three others is somewhat better for Imperium that defeated Slaanesh, it's psichic ressources devided amongs Elders.

All hail! Yeah, I've decided to go a very different path. Nurgle will stay the Power of Plague and other other diseases.

Antony444
>>36378500

The Emperor captured them and experimented with the shard of a dead God... Yes, and not any Blackstone Fortress. Check the name in the lexicanum if you want... Slaanesh is going to have an unpleasant moment...and no, I won't reveal for now what is going to happen to it.

Richard Paull

By the Emperor... its beautiful.

Mordart

As soon as I saw slaanesh say no ship large enough to take that amount of time exists, I knew either one of the Emperors ships, or a Blackstone Fortress was coming. I like how Vect went out, though something that has been niggling at my mind this entire time: Is Aenaria an Anethema? Silver and Gold aura's, both able to kill deamons permanently, she thought Emps would be able to challenge her one day. Admiral Kirtsch is a dead man, though I notice you didn't list the Bakka reinforcements yet. And Where in the Galaxy is Constantine Valdor? The Dreams of the Abyss is horrible. What exactly was Leet going to get reprimanded for in the last chapter? I can't help but feel it was important. Final thought: Who replaces Slaanesh? Because if the Prince of Excess dies someone takes it's place. That Inquisition snippet at the start of the chapter refers to 4 chaos gods.

I tried to count: Taylor got trapped in Abyss of Dream at T - 35 and got out at T - 8, QoB mentionned that it would take 3-6 hours to fall after it's not longer feed. So this weapon was activated for 21-24 hours or around 30-36 cycles. And price grew bigger cycle by cycle, even if it wasn't said by how much... But I'd say at least 100000 Eldars died to sepate Taylor from her troopes which only made her angrier...

Michael Zalesny

You bastardlyness shall be sung in the halls of Valhalla, you monster! Such glorious shenanigans! Also if not!Mothra is named lisa...wonder if shell be a permanent addition to the cast and be a very sassy princess know-it-all. And is that a Naruto reference i see? Lost on the path of life indeed

philip

shittt, I can't believe we actually have a veteran from Horus heresy participating in Mark of Commaragh. Hibou khan was part of Torghun Khan's conspiracy to abandon Jaghatai Khan and side the legion with Horus. However when the plan failed and the Great Khan returned, Hibou surrendered himself and was taken into custody. Later on he returned to service and attempted to rehabilitate himself, leading forces against the Sons of Horus and badly wounding Horus Aximand. Now, its good to see that he regain and redeemed himself in front of white scar chapter by arising as the chapter master. He sounds more like Sun Tzu when he offers military advice and seems pretty humble in comparison to Black Templar. I'm really excited for the next chapter...really wanna see some of white scar batlte doctrines and tactics.

Dale

The entire chapter is showing our beloved Wordsmith's epic touch; but I want to draw attention to what the Queen of Blades was thinking as Taylor fled. She's aware of QA and its connection to Taylor; she's aware that the Emperor is doing more then merely guiding Taylor in His service, he's actively engaged in altering Taylor in ways yet to be seen, and in ways only the Master of Mankind truly understands. I guess I was closer to the mark then I'd anticipated, when I mentioned previously that Taylor might end up being a possible Heiress to the Imperial throne.........

Antony444
>>36384428

Lisa-Mothra: More sugar and more caresses, or I feign to sleep! Taylor: definitely channels the spirit of Tattletale... And yes, it was definitely a Naruto reference.

Antony444
>>36389132

Compliments will always you let enter everywhere, flatterer. But yes, Lelith was sufficiently aware of the Queen Administrator to be...prudent.

Antony444
>>36384452

This Hibou Khan is not the same as the Heresy one. This Space Marine (who is the Great Khan of the White Scars nonetheless) was named in honour of his famous predecessor, though.

Remi Minjoulat

could someone explain to me what the papillion is because i don't understand

Confused

You absolute mad lad you! there is so much happening I don't even know where to begin! All I can say this was amazing and I'm going to cry now because there was another cliffhanger!!

Anonymous

Will we see what’s happened to contessa and co. after objective J has fully planned out? Otherwise great job

primus
>>36400927

Do we know what objective J is? I haven't figured it out, but it feel like other people might have.

Antony444
>>36391965

You can search 'Mothra' in the film 'Godzilla King of Monsters' and paint her in green and gold, with far more luminescence.

Antony444
>>36395855

Thank for all the support...don't worry, there won't be any cliffhanger at the end of 8-5.

Forgottenone

Well Leet going to try and make Goszilla now.... Blackstone Fortress what a real terror weapon you have brought to this war front. If it activates and targets what I am thinking you're just pure evil. Clowns super weapon function just like I thought it would and QoB can use soul rendering attacks at that level all day long it seems. She is scary and the Emperor will for sure be in trouble if he makes a mess in the web way again. LOL great story!

BlackChaos

Glorious chapter. Things are getting ever more intense and action-packed to the brim. Escalation continues! Seriously love fates of the many characters involved, you have a touch for ‘proper’ character endings that are both satisfying and in-character. Living ones have it well too, but you know what I meant ;)

Antony444
>>36409927

Leet will be explicitly forbidden to create Godzilla. Since it would register as 'reptile', Taylor would have no hope of controlling it...

Matt.Silver

It seems that the Queen of Blades is to the Eldar as the Emperor is to Humanity - an anomaly that is so powerful it is hard to believe that they belong to the same species. I think the Necrons need a bit more appreciation in the story. They have been carrying the space battle in the Port of Lost Souls, but their contributions are only really mentioned in passing. I’m sure that Trazyn has at least a few STC’s he’d be willing to trade after the battle to get that holy 12. Though I’m curious about what would happen if the Mechanicus ever found a STC for either an AI, or AI controlled technology. Is it considered holy or heretical? Finally found out where the Angel’s Sword power armours went, which was nice. Expected a bit more that 500, considering her production was more than twice that yearly and she had 5 years to prepare. And did Weaver live up to her promise of giving the Fay 20th war games against Astartes? A Blackstone Fortress huh? Although it’s inactive, it will still be a powerful addition to the forces defending the Port. The Necrons probably have the know-how to activate it, but considering that the Talismans of Vaul were Anti-Ctan Warp Cannons, psychic energy is probably required which would make it impossible for the Necrons to do so. And since Slannesh is about to invade, using psychic energy to activate it now would be very dangerous. It’s too bad there isn’t a large, powerful psychic creature that is immune to Chaos corruption flying around…

DrkShdow

Is it weird but the standout character for me during this whole arc was vector. My god he was awesome. Which is surprising because I hate the dark eldar. How he went out was fantastic. Every time you had him in the story he stole the show for me. 10/10 would recommend to everyone

Dale

Well, if anyone manages to activate the Warp Cannon on that monster, Slaannesh might end up EXTINCT. And while it was mentioned that Malal is around, this means there would still be Four of the Chaos Gods.....Regardless, something tells me the Lord of Excess will respond to ANY mention of Weaver with one HELL of a temper tantrum!!!!

Antony444
>>36486458

Whatever happens now, all the daemons which have participated in the Battle of Commorragh and their chief patron are going to loathe Weaver until the End of Times. A loathing which will be mixed with a healthy dose of fear. This is not the kind of opponent which is defeated by simply completing an evil ritual.

Rockinalice

Oh holy God emperor this was amazing!! now I just want more! I salute you sir

Mackenzie Buckle

I'm looking forward to seeing how Weaver goes about building that arena and palace for the queen of blades.

Antony444
>>36537337

Well, in this instance Taylor is likely going to limit herself to giving the funds (via Rakarth's bounty) and inspecting the building progress. It's more likely either Cyrene or another architect is going to plan and enforce the real work.

Kioras

Really saying something that this last update allows them to successfully checkmark a lot of the long list of goals as completed, except for a few that they did not complete themselves and a small handful that will not be completed. No doubt the Mask of Frozen Stars was wiped out by using that maze and perhaps with a little bit of luck they can find a 12th major STC like item to make the Mechanicus even happier. After all 12 is such a nice number.

Antony444
>>36648523

True. Though in Vect's case, it is...difficult to verify it has been accomplished.

Brandon Leary

That cliffhanger, just oof. Considering the potential of that particular thing, 8.5 is going to be *interesting*

Regan

The SKAVEN??? Oh dear

Anonymous

1.Great chapter as always, never doubted that for a second. 2. Cannot WAIT for 4 chaos gods to be reduced to 3 (Big money no whammies)...wait, this is 40k…(big money lots of whammies). 3. Are you excited for the silent king teaser?! Holy moly! It’s only been forever with the necrons. 4. Thanks for your hard work.

Antony444
>>36856997

Thanks for all the support...yes, I can't wait for Szarekh first big appearance in this new edition. Of course don't expect Neferten to be elogious where the Phaerakh must speak about the Silent King...

Sebastian Rubin

... Praise the Omnissiah, for in His wisdom, he has seen fit to grace us with this knowledge of Saint Weaver's greatest moment of triumph!

Praise the Omnissiah and worship the machine-spirits, for they will serve you well in the Quest for Knowledge and Science!

I think it is hardly possible to transport all the refugees to the Blackstone Fortress in time, but would there theoretically be enough space? Didn't find any exact information, but 10000-100000 miles ° 2 sounds huge ^^ I'm really curious to see how many chapters it takes to process the whole looting etc.

About the Blackstone Fortress: I think it is hardly possible to transport all the refugees to the Blackstone Fortress in time, but would there theoretically be enough space? Antony444
>>36985304

Unfortunately, the Blackstone Fortress wasn't sent to Commorragh for transport. Just think about the time it took it to arrive...

Bent Alex Rane Bundgaard

While Blackstone Fortresses are big, they are NOT that big, they are around the size of the Phalanx IF you are generous, now the Phalanx is big by any standard (It is big and old enough to have developed its own biosphere with unique plant and animal lifeforms), as for their realspace size, they are around 30 km in diameter, which is big but not big enough to smash Cadia apart, that part was helped along by our Spacebattle oath "One at sufficient velocity" Chaos sacrificed A LOT to enable them to accelerate a Blackstone fortress to a high enough velocity to break apart the planet.

Antony444
>>36985281

Space, maybe, maybe not. There are not unfortunately enough environmental systems to welcome such a number of passengers, however.
