This is the properly beta-ed chapter of The odds were never in my favour, which should be published later in the week.

Work will continue on another chapter of this story on the meanwhile...

Your proofers left the "cousin" error untouched... ;)

This isn't an error. It's Dudley speaking beforehand, and he's truly her cousin...depending if Alexandra is on a generous day.

“Is there anything more you want to accuse me of before I send you into swallow graves?” On page four should be "... shallow graves?"

After this meeting, will Alex start learning dark magic? I think she got the right dose of motivation.

Sebiraider11

"Alexandra asked, for once interested by something that wasn’t the ramble of a Light bigot." I believe the wasn't should be a was, because else she would be terribly interested by what Dumbledore and co have to say, but alas she typically doesn't listen to them or their ramblings all that much. And just one line later when her father answers " will use to user in a new era of darkness" should be a "will use to usher in a new era of darkness".

Yes, the motivation is there. However there are certain risks inherent to its practise, and they aren't to be taken lightly, even for a Champion of the Dark.

I wonder if Alexandra will one day get a fancy mythological hydra upgrade, although I couldn't find the name of the hydra herculeas fought. Can't think of any other famous hydras. Maybe a medusa?

Alexandra is already a Lernean Hydra, like the one Heracles fought. She just hasn't full control yet, and must limit to partial transfigurations of her body now. But there's no upgrades when one is an Animagus. Once you're one, you're one, and that is all there is to know.

Guilherme Bezerra

I wonder if Sirius calling Alexandra a Black Witch instead of Dark Witch was on purpose ?

Antony444

Yes, it was. While a Black Witch is near-certainly a Dark Witch, the former is sworn to a Dark Power and being one is illegal in a large majority of the ICW-affiliated nations. The latter isn't, as long as you aren't recognised guilty of any crimes.
