Incident Reports (Patreon)

During the year or so where I was either too busy or too burned out to work on the comic, I was still actively thinking about it. Daisy's incident was originally just a simple gag, but I started mapping out how it all would have unfolded. I just wasn't up to drawing any of it, even now. But I also didn't want to waste all of those extra details I'd cooked up, so I settled on squeezing them into corporate incident reports.

Even still, there are some things that didn't quite fit into the reports. Violet being an infant at the time, Alice couldn't have taken her onto Space Mountain. She could have left her with Lily, but the way the initial gag was written implied that both of them were there in line with Daisy. The solution is that they'd only planned on sticking with the group as far as the ride's entrance so that Lily could get a picture of Daisy standing triumphantly in front of the measuring post, after which she and Alice would exit the line and find other things to do.

Mercy never returned to their hotel. Her phone couldn't be reached, but she did leave a message just before her disappearance, effectively telling the family to go home without her. With no other word from or about her for the rest of their vacation, they decided to do just that. When they got home, Mercy was there, waiting for them as if she'd never left. She hasn't said how she managed it. She also rightly assumes that she won't be welcome in Florida ever again, which isn't much of a loss, from her point of view.

Also one detail about the Disney ban that I could still have some fun with - Daisy was banned specifically from Disney World, but not from Disneyland or any of the company's other parks or resorts across the globe, as they're all technically separate companies. Tokyo Disneyland isn't even owned by Disney at all, so the ban definitely wouldn't apply, there! This all might be something she'd realize too late, of course.
