Line Experiment (Patreon)

I hadn't touched this file in 4 days - and before that it'd been 2 weeks, because this time of year is a motivational black hole - but this morning I figured I could at least get the minimal background elements in place, so the first image could be finished & posted. Didn't take long, but of course things had to go sideways.

A few days ago, I wanted to try something I've seen other artists do with their lines - duplicate & blur them. That version is on the right, the original lines on the left. I haven't made up my mind on the effect, so today I thought I should get some feedback.

After doing the background, I'd opened Photoshop to crop and combine these screenshots... and Windows froze. And not in the "give it a minute" way, or even in the "it's taking too long, press ctrl-alt-delete" way. It was frozen completely, and the fan was blowing at top speed. Nothing to do but force it to power off.

...I hadn't saved what little progress I'd made this morning.
