Mixed thoughts on this one, so far. The first version is maybe a bit too "me", considering I'd started it thinking it'd be a good excuse to go more stylized.

Today I tried to skew closer to the actual designs - even tracing the head from one of the model sheets - but the end result may be too child-like. Plus, if this is the direction I wanted to go in, I could just grab an existing model and repose it so it's upright, and then give it hands. Although no matter what I land on, I think hooves instead of hands could be a fun option.

Another issue with the original G4 designs, is their eyes may be too big to work in 3D. At least, if the idea is to have them spherical with sculpted-in pupils. They might instead need to be more similar to Sonic the Hedgehog - one big sphere slightly smaller than the skull. The pupils could then either be projected textures, or separate objects. Or, I could shrink the eyes and aim for a more G5 look.

Or I could focus on the silhouettes in Zbrush, and wing it form there.

Getting back to the hooves-for-hands idea, that could be a convenient workaround for a rather stupid bit of mental push-back I've been having. I have an existing hand model built out of simple shapes, that'd I'd made sure can form a proper fist... but I left that file in Florida. I'd rather not redo it, but that would mean that any body sculpting couldn't be finished until I go home in September. That is, unless the character I'm sculpting doesn't have hands, or their hands are simpler/toonier.
