Now that my laptop is back from the dead, I need to get back to work.  The past week or so without a computer has at least given me time to think, particularly about what might be in store for my campaign over the next year...

I think I say this every year, but over the next year I want to focus more on my 3D work.  I've made a lot of progress over the past several months - at least in terms of developing time-saving tools - and if I keep it up I might just get one of my characters animated in 2017!

Face rigging is one of the big things I need to focus on at the moment.  Before my laptop's fan died, I was working on a new script for eyelids, which could also be used for lips.  Looking at some demos on Vimeo, though, I may have quite a bit more to learn.  One artist in particular has some super cartoony rigs that quite frankly have me stumped. Realistically, Daisy won't need a squashy/stretching rig, and I don't think Rose or Mary will, either.  Knowing how to set up such a rig certianly couldn't hurt, though.

All this 3D-talk isn't to say I won't be drawing.  At the very least, next month I plan on picking up my comic right where I left off.  I may take a break from pinups, though...  unless an I have an idea that begs to be drawn, of course.  3D animation is what I want to do, comics are a quicker way to tell stories, so I guess that makes pinups the odd one out, the one thing too many...

I've also been thinking about what changes I could make to my reward tiers, particularly if I'm focusing more on animation down the line.  For the $10 tier, one possibility would be the Illustrator files for comic pages & pinups.  At higher levels, perhaps access to some of my scripts or models (not Daisy), or even tutoring.  First things first, though, I need to finish one of my characters.

Hey, did you see that genie Chromie skin for Heroes of the Storm?

While I support your patreon to support you, I wouldn't be surprised if most people are simply here for the pinups rather than the 3D work or the comic pages.

I have, and can't wait until she's patched in! In the meantime, perhaps I should use my rigging tools on her demon form?

That wouldn't surprise me. Would be a shame, because I have more to offer than just pinups. If I'm lucky though, soon I'll be able to do 3D pinups again, in addition to animations!

Part of it also may simply be how long it takes to complete each comic page on average, or each little 'arc'. There's not been too much flow of a story, more just brief one-shots where we're introduced to one character and might not see them again except in a pinup save for Daisy/Rose/Mary-Anne.

I think my main problem with comics, is they're not really what I want to do. But they are the best way to tell stories, because even if I had all the characters, environments, and props in place, I wouldn't be able to animate everything. Another problem is that my attention is always too divided. I'd like to focus on my 3D work, but I need to keep drawing so I don't 'forget' how to draw may characters, and to keep folks interested. Scripting and rigging aren't exactly the sexiest kind of work, unless perhaps Daisy's breast rig ends up being as flexible as I'm hoping it will be. Then there's comics, the occassional commissions, and of course my freelance work... All these things aside, I don't think my page output is too horrible, at least when I am focused on comics. I know some artists who crank out pages like their life depends on it, but they are either really passionate or are making decent money from it. Still others only put out an average of one page a month. And one of my favorite webcomics only seems to get updated a few times a year, any more...

Oh no doubt for full fledged web comics those are people who are able to dedicate to them almost entirely and pump out like a page a week. Sort of turned into a routine of mine to check comics on Tuesday/Friday as that's when a lot of updates go out. As I said you've got me whatever you do, and I do believe once you've got some models fully prepared that you'll be able to produce some really great 3D stuff. Back when I first found your work it was in fact the old Daisy model that caught my eye at first.
